Kanter is a back-up, he was a back-up in OKC for a reason, and it makes me question if anybody in the front office watched him there. It kills me that Willy is getting shytted on for his D when Kanter has been much worse for his whole career. He's an average impact player with some tremendous strengths, and some tremendous weaknesses to go with it.
Is Bledsoe and upgrade over Rose? And if so by how much?
Yes, and by a good amount imo. If you disregard how he played to start this year( he might've checked out mentally), then Bledsoe is a fringe all-star type of talent. Rose at this point is a solid sixth man who can start in a pinch.

We are playing the long term game

Bledsoe brings us no closer to having a core that can contend for years to come.

Trading for Bledsoe makes us a fringe 8th seed, at best and keeps us in that dreaded middle ground. Too good to get a great pick, not good enough to contend for a ship.

No Bledsoe. Don’t want em.

No, he doesn't make us a fringe 8th seed. :bryan:

We would be better than Chicago and Atlanta. But worse than Orlando, Detroit, Indiana, Brooklyn. Only team out West worse than us is Phoenix. We would still be in position for the "tank".
If Kyle Korver and JJ Reddikk can carve out a niche for themselves, I don't see why McDermott can't. He has more bounce than both of them combined.
Yup. He's only 25 too, a guy we could possibly develop in that Korver/J.J. role who would be a valuable deadly knockdown shooter if this team ever becomes playoff ready.

He and KP get us an 8th seed imo. Notice I said fringe, would could mean 8-10 maybe 11th in the conference if the seeding is close, which is still too good to get a great pick.

Bledsoe gets us a pick between 7-14 which I don’t want AT ALL

Hoooooly hell. That was some bad basketball.

I don't understand the rotations. I don't understand why Dotson can't get minutes. I don't understand why they opted to sign TWO over-the-hill point guards. Nobody seems to know where to be on offense. They can't even swing it to wide open players. And the defense was... well it wasn't at all.

Their offseason was as bad as predicted. They are paying the price for trading tin cans for Melo, which we all understood when it happened. McDermott just is not an NBA level rotation player, and Kanter doesn't even bother playing defense. It's one thing to be bad, it's another just to not do it. He's like a harden lowlight reel, but it's all the time, never stopping, no supercuts.

I think Hornacek is going to lose his job, but I don't think Rambis is any better. By the way, as the defensive coach, he needs to be fired into the sun.

It's early, and I know they're going to be bad. But they didn't even play hard last night. They missed their first few shots and called it a night. An ugly turn from what we saw against OKC and Detroit.
Some of those replays are gawd awful
The spacing was non existent.
Players clearly don't know the plays.
Oh and bledsoe isn't the answer still he is a chucker but more importantly suns want a young asset.

Let me see if I understand you dudes:
95% of you front like your on this rebuild/pro-tank wave, yet get mad as shyt when the Knicks lose.

You hate Sessions/Baker/Jack....but if a trade to upgrade that position doesn't make us instant contenders, it's not worth it? How will yall feel when KP is worn down by February because he's the sole focus of the opposing defense every night? :patrice:

We couldn't get an 8th seed with Melo and KP....but we will with Bledsoe and KP? :skip:

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Kristaps HAS to play center to maximize his talents and most importantly help his team maximize his uniqueness, constantly putting someone next to him that clogs the paint makes no sense and leads to some shytty offense and pulls the best rim protector on the Knicks away from the rim because he's guarding a floor spacer on the other end. The direction the NBA is heading if you're going to have two bigs, they both need to be able to stretch the floor in addition to whatever low post skills they have. Every single center the Knicks have is a traditional C that can't guard the wings, and doesn't provide floor spacing so it turns into 4 dudes just watching that C when he has the ball.

They have to convince Kristaps to play C in the future so that they can start building the team with that in mind, they need to be more dynamic in their approach building around him.

Ps. Tim Hardaway is trash.

The point is, we’re not arguing that bledsoe and KP will carry us to the 8th seed. I won’t speak for others, but for me the issue is those two can easily 30-35 games, obviously miss the playoffs but also risk losing a top 3 pick and worse case end up picking between 6-8, that’s exactly what happned this year.

That’s what I don’t want. In a perfect world, we build our 3 young players KP, willy and frank, be competitive while we lose and secure the first pick so we get the “pick of the litter”. That’s the perfect world scenario, in a good world we still get a top 3 pick where we’re guaranteed doncic, porter or bagley. Top 5 isn’t even bad because you still have bamba and aynton. But in a cruel fukkin world we get a 6-8 pick and end up with a miles bridges or sexton

You got an eye for a coach?

Assuming it’s a college coach we’re stuck till next season right?

I honestly don't have anyone at the moment. Usually the team picks off their staff and we have Rambis next in line which is terrifying. I've been working under the assumption that it'll be Blatt due to the connections but in a perfect world, end of the season we push hard for Messina and he somehow leaves Pop to make it in NYC.

Spurs assistant Ettore Messina would 'be honored' to have NBA head coaching gig

My fellow Knick fan, do you feel like this obvious scheme to get Kanter numbers is an effort to get another player?

If so, who? Clearly it won't be Bledsoe.
