Oh ok so it’s personal stuff. Maybe doing the whole dark spooky character negativity affected his psyche. I can’t knock him taking time away instead of self medicating like the 90’s guys did.

Part of it is he has been having back problems for quite a long time now, predating him coming to AEW. I don't know what else may be in play, he doesn't talk to the media or tell anything to anyone that yaps their mouth to the dirt sheets.

The Acclaimed vs Swerve in Our Glory was a very fun watch and very over match. Bowens can truly sell very well. Seems like the titles are going on Acclaimed soon but man, I might have pulled the trigger that night mid way through the match.

What's sad about this is that if booking could've sustained a "he will fukk you up" Danielson, presented the way he was leading up to the Page feud, he would be the PERFECT guy to face Punk in a huge match up for the belt.

Imagine Punk running around being the miserable fukk he is, like he's been doing lately, and the end point is Dragon going and stepping up to beat the shyt out of Punk. By the time the match happened, most of the AEW fanbase would be begging for Punk to get his ass kicked and the roster doesn't have anyone better to show that kind of aura than Danielson.

Was talking to some people after the show tonight, I didnt even catch it but it seems like Starks might have legit hurt himself in the match and thats why he took the abrupt clean loss.

Nobody gave a fukk about Swerve & Lee. That match was hot because the acclaimed are over like rover.

No it’s just the acclaimed has a fun catchphrase. They are entertaining but that match had zero buzz going into and if not for the internet raving about it I would not have seen it because I fell asleep and wasn’t going to rewatch.
Also give Swerve and Lee credit

I think also WWE did a better job making it clear what the press conference was for. Didn't look to have actual journalists from wrestling new sites there, seemed to be chosen fans - which worked better.

Meanwhile I just finished the AEW scrum and you had Lee/Swerve up there, they are asked about the match (kayfabe), and then the next guy asks Tony if he should have called an audible (shoot) on the finish/winners - while Lee/Swerve are sitting right there. What the fukk. Just throws off everything having two difference types of questions asked. Like is it Oochie Wally or One Mic. I do not know.

Yea these journalists are corny, and that question was disrespectful and I’m glad Lee said what he said to him.

wish Bryan wasnt that much of a mark, only criticism that one can have for him, but you cant knock a guy who at his core just wants to wrestle and have fun, the business side/booking side is where it gets hairy.

Comparing the two is dumb, reddit hates Punk so take it with a grain of salt. Punk will never let someone fukk him, and what is the probably with being a mark for yourself?

I have no idea what you are trying to say in the 2nd paragraph but my point is that the current situation with Punk screams for a future match were he faces someone that's presented as someone that can kick his ass. Not in a "real/shoot" way, but in a pro wrestling way. Just imagine Punk getting defeaning "you are gonna get your fukking head kicked in" chants because fans have really bought into his heel character and on the other side you have another big name wrestler that has the crowd on his side, not as an underdog, but as an ass kicker.

To be honest, someone like Eddie Kingston will also get a huge reaction for stepping up against a heel Punk. But I believe a well presented American Dragon would sell more tickets and PPVs in that role.

Meh. I think Punk was the right choice. He had way more Juice just of the strength of being gone for so long. Turns out he's a fukkin prick though.

They could easily build Danielson back up any time they want. shyt he could be the one to take the belt off Punk in a few months.
