Looking at the punch stats charlo was nearly matching in total output but he was missing a lot and what did land wasn't effective whereas you could tell Canelo was hurting Charlo. Personally I feel a lot of the hate is overblown
This is something people are overlooking. Charlo couldn't land on canelo even when he was throwing. And that's why I said the main difference will be defensively. Opponents don't realize how hard it is to touch canelo until they get in there. So you're throwing punches at a guy you can't hit. And taking massive punches in the process. At that point you just gotta stand your ground and bang. And jermell just couldn't get himself to do it. He made a Business decision to survive.

But that's why I think a motivated canelo beats everybody. Because defensively he's just too elite. He can be right in your face and still make you miss. And now he's mastered the high guard/parry as well. He used to focus on just head movement. But now he uses a mixture of both. Which helps him conserve more energy than just bobbing and weaving. The canelo we seen Saturday is gonna be tough to beat for anybody.

How did he "nearly match his total output" when Canelo landed nearly twice as many punches :dwillhuh: are we looking at the same card? Are you giving this nikka credit for simply swinging his arms??
Look at the punch stats. They are nearly matching in punches thrown each round

I said the same thing. Jermell showed that if he's not leading, he doesn't know what to do.

Frontrunner shyt. That's not going to get it done against Bud.

And it's fukked up because with Bud being the smaller guy, he'll think he can bully him which will open him up to some serious punishment.
That's why I think bud should focus on unifying at 154 first. He said he wants 3 time undisputed then retire. But why not go for 4. He can easily outbox jermell. Get an easy payday. And he can more experience at a higher weight. Then jumping to 168 for canelo won't be as extreme. 3 time undisputed is crazy. 4 time and he's in the conversation for the greatest ever. Don't think anybody will ever do that again.

I agree except for the bolded mainly because Charlo's power didn't carry up and that he felt Canelo's power. From a fan's perspective we want that but I can't blame Charlo from not wanting to get knocked out when he can avoid it

From a casual perspective he was just as much of a star as Haney, no? Both aren't superstars but they are respectable, known fighters to even those who just watch casually like I do.

Seeing dude get punched on all over the ring with little to no retaliation ruins him in my eyes. And going on to win against a bunch of mid ass opponents ain't gonna get that respect back so unless he can somehow beat Spence and bud I don't really see how he's going to get that respect back.

Dude is cooked, he took 1 bag and didn't really think about what really was at stake IMHO.

Haney is bigger than Jermell even fighting Canelo Jermell only gained like 100k followers on IG, Devin has 3x the follows. For context both errol and bud gained 3-400k followers during their promo

I dont even think the Crawford fight happens after this. He wont allow his ego to be crushed a second time. He will vacate and Bud will have fight the Australian to get all the belts at 154

Bud vs Spence rematch will probably happen for the IBF vacant or some random shyt at 154. Winner of Brian Mendoza/Tim Kazoo will fight Lubin likely and then we see a unification of 3 of the belts probably, and WBA would be last thing needed. That said I don't see Bud sticking around that long.

So Buds 3 options are:
Spence at 154 then Mell if Mell sticks around + Bud beats Spence
Boots at 147 meaning Spence rematch doesn't happen
Canelo (I don't see this happening).

Boots isn't a Money fight but Bud has the leverage to make Boots take pennies.

Bud Spence 2 won't make as much as the 1st as nobody really cares anymore.

Canelo is the pay day but Canelo prob sees nobody how hard people try he isn't getting props from this Mell fight.

thats always the downside of going to live cards...when shyt hits the struggle stage and it dont get out of it..then you feel you wasted your time and money

benavidez vs plant still remains the best ppv this year from top to bottom and the only one i wish i went to

this is the biggest reason why fights are the best in Vegas. Even if the fight is a dud, there's enough to do in Vegas to make sure it was worth the trip and thee weekend and the fight is done by 10-11 pm and you have the rest of your night to have fun. You go to a wack fight at the barclays in BK and it's just a complete waste of a good Saturday night.

See this is where punch stats could actually be misleading cause yes he was throwing punches but he wasn't commiting to anything
No power or snap on like 90% of the bullshyt he threw. Was just throwing shyt out to stay busy

from the home of coca-cola, i'm not referring to s
I firmly believe this idiot completely sold out and potentially ruined his career and brand for a quick cash grab, which is sad. He worked so hard to unify those titles and accomplished his dream, had the 154 division in his hand, and threw it all away.
Wasn't you one of the ones down for Spence fighting Canelo?? Was it OK for Spence but not Charlo?
