Kahn boxed decent for a few rounds but that's about it. Canelo was outboxing him by the end of the 4th. The 5th you could clearly see where the fight was headed. Canelo was setting him for that right hand from the get go. Once canelo figured out the handspeed it was a wrap.

Well... yeah. I think the point Tua is making is that Con fought a better fight than Charlo.

Jermell didn't even really get knocked down. He got caught, said "fukk this shyt" , and then took a knee.

Canelo was sharp, was in Charlo's face all night, he clearly dominated the fight. Jermell Charlo should be ashamed of himself. On the flip side, this was the best shape Canelo was in, in years. Props.

And he still got tired, we'll see what happens when he fights qualified opposition at their natural weight.

He didn't get tired. He was very consistent with punches thrown per round. He threw at least 30 punches every round except for the 1st, 2nd, and 12th. And in the 12th he threw 29.

This is disgusting. You got me defending Contaminated Meat :snoop:

I've seen nothing but great things about canelo's performance Saturday night. Even from his usual detractors. He looked faster and sharper than he's looked in years. Keeping everything short and compact. Dude was a pitbull. He looked hungry. Didn't even sit down between rounds.

Now it's still hard to judge his stamina because jermell gave him zero resistance. But considering how he pressed forward and threw bombs for 12 rounds his stamina was impressive. I'm sure David is gonna make him work way more on the defensive end but he's also gonna be making David miss way more. And I don't even see that fight lasting more than 8-9 rounds anyway. After canelo breaks down his body David won't last very long.

Canelo is back :wow:

Amir Khan put up a better effort than Jerm. That's facts.
Both came up in weight for the challenge.

I said during the fight that the problem with Jermell is that he’s the moving up, but yet doesn’t have any of the advantages associated with being the smaller guy.

For instance, Khan was able to win some rounds based on having faster hand speed and good boxing ability.

However, Jermell was completely outgunned. Canelo was faster and is significantly the better boxer. There’s just nothing Charlo could do.

Jermell is a tough guy, but he isn’t a generational fighter. He isn’t the type of guy that had any business jumping two weight classes to challenge Canelo.

Because he was undisputed, I think he was made out to something that he wasn't. He gets all the props in the world for being undisputed but like you said, he's just not a once in a generation type fighter.

To me this was clear, I love 154 because they fight each other and it's entertaining but there was no elite-level guy in that division in this generation

I said the same thing. Jermell showed that if he's not leading, he doesn't know what to do.

Frontrunner shyt. That's not going to get it done against Bud.

And it's fukked up because with Bud being the smaller guy, he'll think he can bully him which will open him up to some serious punishment.

Why did Jermell voluntarily ruin his reputation like this? I'm a casual so I need one of you heads to make sense of this. Did he really think he stood a chance beforehand and was a victim of FAFO? Or was the bag too great to turn down? As an undisputed champion in his own weight class surely he could have made a living picking better fights than this. I'm very confused brehs

Jermell has never been a super star so I don't think he ruined anything, that said he would have been better off going to 160 after undisputing and just having fights all over Texas. He still can do it now that he has gotten his life changing pay day.

From a casual perspective he was just as much of a star as Haney, no? Both aren't superstars but they are respectable, known fighters to even those who just watch casually like I do.

Seeing dude get punched on all over the ring with little to no retaliation ruins him in my eyes. And going on to win against a bunch of mid ass opponents ain't gonna get that respect back so unless he can somehow beat Spence and bud I don't really see how he's going to get that respect back.

Dude is cooked, he took 1 bag and didn't really think about what really was at stake IMHO.

Looking at the punch stats charlo was nearly matching in total output but he was missing a lot and what did land wasn't effective whereas you could tell Canelo was hurting Charlo. Personally I feel a lot of the hate is overblown

How did he "nearly match his total output" when Canelo landed nearly twice as many punches :dwillhuh: are we looking at the same card? Are you giving this nikka credit for simply swinging his arms??
