Castano had him hurt, idk man…Mel has a good chin, and Canelo isn't a destructive puncher, and he himself started at 154.
I imagine Mel manages to see a decision. I wonder how he'll adjust to fighting with the extra 11+ pounds.
It's a fun matchup though. With Canelo beginning to show signs of slippage, and Mel enjoying his success at 154, there's just enough plausibility to think that Mel has a shot of upsetting Nelo. At least moreso than his brother, who was out for too long.
I’m not giving a solid chance to Jermell and it’s farcial that Canelo drags someone up 2 divisions.
Jermell is a good fighter obviously but not good enough of a boxer to neutralize Canelo and no good enough of a puncher to take him out, esp with the difference in weight classes.
He struggled with Harrison and Castano and tbf he closed both of those rivalries convincingly but how am I gonna believe you give 168lbs Canelo serious issues after that.
