That's the thing, no one is saying MMA isn't hard to learn but they constantly up in these type of threads casually downplaying the skillset in boxing. LIke these dudes wouldn't get washed if they stepped in a boxing gym talking that shyt. :mjlol:

They have an inferiority complex and they ignorant about boxing... and what makes it worse is they are arrogant about it. :hhh:

Right, you never hear a boxing going yeah I can train bbj for 2 months and go do work against grapplers:lolbron:

Boxing has a problem when this shyt is doing numbers.
Celebrity boxing on Fox that had Joey Buttafooco and Manute Bol back in the early 00s did better numbers than organized boxing and MMA will ever do. People will always be attracted to a spectacle and circus, it has nothing to do with the "state of the sport".

People here and YouTube alike keep overanalyzing "what this means for boxing". Like you said, it's a spectacle. If they fought in MMA, it'd get the same level of circus attention. We've also basically had the two biggest fights of the year basically cancelled/postponed so that didn't help (or it did help, depending on how you want to view the event).

I was listening to Shawn Porter's podcast and they brought up a great analogy comparing the youtube boxers to like And 1 basketball. It's not a "1 to 1" comparison but it works in that And 1 was its own separate thing. They played in arenas and were on ESPN, nobody asked what does this mean for the state of basketball and is it taking away from boxers, shyt was just its own thing.
