Its too late. Spence shouls have been usinf this decade the fill out and slowly put on muscle. To be real after getting the first belt at 147 he shoulda moved up to 154, grabbed a belt there and then tried to undisputed 160. Probably woulda lead to a GGG showdown if my timelines arent off or a Mall Charlo/Boo Boo fight
Actually makes a lot of sense, Mayweather always has some good points but I'm guessing that path is a more challenging one?

Yeah I always found spence better but Mell more dynamic. Mell may be the best athlete Bud would have faced in terms of explosiveness (others have neen fast, and porter is an athlete but im talking about explosiveness and ko power)
Yeah ir’s him or Gamboa. Dulorme was pretty azhletic too so was Indongo but with a shytty technique to boot

Gamboa isn't/wasnt a KO artist to me knowledge so I don't think thats a good comparison.

Then your statement doesn’t make sense or it was rhetorical. You should’ve just said if Mell hurts him he will finish him. Somehow you either think Bud’s chin is weaker at higher weight, or Mell hits harder than anyone Bud has faced. No evidence of either plus Mell isn’t as fast or as good a boxer as Gamboa was at 135.

No. Spence’s bread was buttered at 147. Had he moved up he would’ve been beat a long time ago. The key word is advantage. Some fighters fight at low weights so they can use their strength/power as advantage. Like Oscar. The plan was to start at lowest weight possible and grab all the titles you can for marketability purposes. Floyd style was different so his path was different. The only anomalies I can think of off top is PAC and Inuoye because they really are knockout punchers with speed. As I previously mentioned at least half of Porter fights were at junior middle or above.

Stevenson got a slick ass mouth on him, sizing Broner up like he wanna fight him

Broner is not special like Bud but he has some serious talent. Mentally he just ain’t there. If he had worked with other trainers and moved his hands he would’ve been better. He still is going to be a legit threat at 140 but technically he not on Shakur level.

“Break him down Errol, chop-chop-chop”
:mjlol:
Feels like James’ status dropped some with this fight. He gets his guys in proper shape, toughens them up but this wasn’t it…
It was perfectly clear from round two that any time Spence proceeded with trying to “chop him down” he was met with some vicious counters in short order

My favourite sequence from the fight. I've watched this a million times. Brutal ballet dancing, this is Boxing at its best.

Other than talking about his fight with Chico and saying Errol should be at 160 or 168, he said a whole bunch of nothing. :heh:
Base, he even managed to squeeze some Canelo shots in there as always :russ:
Personally I think Floyd was reaching with the 160-168 stuff, maybe in an alternate path Spence could been looking at 160 NOW but going to 154 right away then jumping to 160 and 168 years ago? nah. Those guys just have different frames. Lil Charlo ain't even do that until this Canelo fight and in the locker room pre fight you can see the difference in frame between Spence and Charlo. Let's see how these dudes do at 154 before we start pretending like they could been champs at super middleweight
