It's a shame that we have to call this a best of the decade performance. shyt like that should be the standard, not the vast exception.

It's more of a standard in Strong BJ than any other place but people continue to take them for granted :manny:

I would think as a performer that type of selling would be a lot more interesting and open up your matches to be some real free form, unique shyt, but the market for that is so tiny it's not even worth bothering with even for one off matches.

I'm fine with that to be honest, but my thing is why do leg work in so many of these damn matches? Like, I get that they can't be bothered to make it mean something, then just stop doing it unless it's a transition or reset spot. Specially because there's no issue when people work an arm, or the back, or the neck, etc. Yet leg work seems to be the go-to move after the neck, which is :dwillhuh: to me at this point.

It's like they have it on auto pilot up until the point they have to sell :pachaha:

I remember leg selling debates about the KENTA/Nakajima matches, that was over a decade ago :flabbynsick:

I always think Tana is going for a match like this:

There's legit around five moves used in this and like 127 dropkicks to the leg but it has the crowd going crazy towards the end. Kawada's selling in this :wow: Think I prefer this to the more lauded Muto/Tenryu matches. I remember watching and being like ''this isn't great:unimpressed:,'' then after a while I was like :ehh: and I ended up like :whoo: :ahh:

:whoo: I remember those, people were taking time stamps and screen captures to show how good or shytty KENTA's selling was :russ: Now that I think about it, that was the same "stop selling to do a move, go back to selling after you hit it" stuff that you see everyone do today. Rollins comes to mind immediately :heh:

For years I've taken Tana's leg work as a transition move more than actual strategy. Like, he does it to reset the match and stop his opponent like Misawa would use his elbow. Never been a big of it because it still doesn't make that much sense, but I can at least "get" what he is doing with it :patrice: his opponents not selling it is always frustrating though. Nakamura's magical healing powers started with those matches with Tana :lolbron:

I remember that :dead: Think it was a guy who lived in Japan named gordi who posted them on DVDR. There would be a cap of KENTA grabbing his leg and he'd be like ''at the 16:05 point you can see KENTA sell after his initial burst of comeback offense.'' shyt got heated at times too :damn::deadrose:

Don't know if this was mentioned but Ospreay clipped his face on the apron when he jumped over the top rope. :mjtf:

Gotta knock a star off the rip just for being a Mutoh match
