I didn't quite see it like that. More like the current guy (Ibushi) ran even, and then got slowly overtaken by his predecessor (KENTA).

This could have been done without making Kota look weak. It was a longer version of a SSN match to me. :francis:

But it is what it is. Kota won’t be affected by it.

Some dream matches are better left as dreams:to:

Daisuke beating the fukk out of Tanahashi this year at All Star Battle is the closest we are gonna get.

Him showing up last year to the young lion's show to face Shota was :wow:

KENTA just got done with working 5 years exclusively in the US, Ibushi has worked in the US like 20+ matches in the last 2 years, yet Tanahashi/Okada work a US crowd 300% better than both

Good on whoever got the "R.I.P. Perro Aguayo" sign on camera.

I initially pegged this as a 80% level Okada/Tanahashi match, but it seems like they're really going for it on some level, at least.

You're not wrong, but Okada and Tanahashi are more American-styled workers than KENTA and Ibushi are in general. It shouldn't be THAT surprising.
