KENTA hasn't really been that guy since...what, 2011 maybe?

After what he went through in WWE, why would anyone have those kinds of expectations? The mere fact that he showed anything of worth to NJPW is an accomplishment in my eyes.

Not sure what we are arguing here?

Kota in the best shape of his life :wow: Good match, appreciated the stiffness. Pretty clear KENTA isn't in proper shape yet though, dude was gasping at times while Ibushi was chilled out. Not a surprise he picked up the win, no more jobs in the territory for Ibushi this tournament

I really liked the ZSJ.match, I've really turned around on him. Love the graps now:whew:

Yeah, he should be having 12-15 minutes match, not 20+.

It was still pretty damn good, they beat the fukk out of each other. Crowd expected way more fireworks though, you could tell they weren't sure how to react to the match.

They started chanting for Red Shoes at one point :gucci:

People will complain about KENTA kind of running through Ibushi, but it doesn't diminish Ibushi at all. He'll get his wins and is still favored to take the whole tournament.

Yea, you’re right, but this is Kota fuxkin Ibushi, not some local jobber. Match resembled something off of Shotgun Saturday Night where a jobber gets some offense in for a bit. Kota only had like 10% offense in. Looked like a chump. :francis:

The opening tag matches yes. The G1 block matches will start now.

And it's past 1 AM over here so I will catch the rest tomorrow.
I had to go see an apt and grab food. I see the main enent is up already. I guess I'll catch this and then watch ufc:ehh:

Honestly I think KENTA had a couple of matches on 205 better than the match with Ibushi, but I think he can have better ones with Tana and Okada that have a lot more drama and emotion in them to make up for the physical aspect. Maybe, we'll see how hobbled Tana really is tonight.

I didn't quite see it like that. More like the current guy (Ibushi) ran even, and then got slowly overtaken by his predecessor (KENTA). It seems bad simply because we're not used to Ibushi being on the wrong end of that story. I didn't feel as if Ibushi got shortchanged at all given the circumstances, really.
