Maaaan I only made Like $65K-ish in 2014, filed exempt that year & I'm still paying for it :francis:
Breh I'm talking sub 10k over the course of about 5 years. One was a 10 Dollar an hour job with like 8 hours a week, the other was minimum wage, 8 hours a day for maybe 3 full months at best. I'll preface this with the fact that I was a student during this time, but either way it was just enough money to keep gas in the car given the distances I was driving.

Yea, I'm def ready to get this position. I'm so happy we're at the case portion now. It's all math from here on out. There must be a right answer.

Lord willing I can secure this position by the first week of February. Put in my 2 weeks notice, take a little holiday and be ready to start by March.

Good thing my finances are also shaping up quite nicely so far and my citizenship is dude in about 12 months.

2019 shaping up nicely

Question 6 Figure Brehs and Brehettes,

After maxing your employer's 401k match and contributing the max into your roth IRA what are some other good investments to look into? ETF? Individual stocks etc?

Ideally I want something I can contribute to for the next 1.5 years before I move out of the country. When I move out of the country I'd like to use my capital for working capital instead of investments. I'd just want the investments to run on auto-pilot for the duration I'm out of the country.

You can go the ETF or Index fund route. Also, you could either go back to the 401k and contribute up to the max ($19,000).

Utility stocks that pay dividends... or Colgate type stocks that have paid consistent dividends over the last 30 years

Got the 2nd round confirmed for next Friday. Also confirmed the job would be in the area :blessed:

I wouldn’t mind relocating but it’s honeslty easier for me to stay where I am and keep my plans moving at full speed. Moving out of town means a whole new learning curve.
congrats man, hope you get where you want to be, moving does hurt a bit, but if it allows you the further yourself, you can't take it off the table.
Best of luck to you man, and keep us updated.

So the position is in the DC area. At first I thought I might have had to move down to Richmond, which, from what I’ve heard, isn’t the move for advancing my career.

I mean it be cool and relaxed and all, it give me a chance to move out of my comfort zone, but the real move I’m gearing up for is getting back to the African continent by way of Nigeria.

If all goes well, after this role, another 1.5 - 2yrs here before the 1st plunge back to Nigeria. Assess my opportunities there and see how best to capitalize on it (MBA?)

There’s also a possibilty for NYC, but ehh, trynna save up some capital for Nigeria. NYC is good as a weekend trip.

Let’s see how it goes next week.

And thank you

Nice man, DC has a huge cost of living and some of the worst traffic in the US, so yeah if you can stay where you are I feel you.
Best of luck to you

Compared to the south its bad all over.
My sister lived in Arlington and fredricksburg, and around quantico, cost of living is high all over, compared to say West Virginia border or NC area

True, I’ve always been based in this area since college so I guess this is my baseline lol.
