How do you all feel about crypto right now? Like if my new job happened to be with a company in the crypto space, would you be nervous?

I wouldn't because of general economic uncertainty and questions about crypto currencies in particular. I applied for a company in the operating in the crypto space earlier in the year but I wouldn't today. I saw the role as an opportunity to move closer to DevOps / SRE since it would have me working with developers.

Extremely nervous. That shyt tanking and people are so disingenuous that they will wait until the last minute before disclosing the full situation.

It anything just stay prepared to leave. This time of the year sucks finding a new role. Ride it out to the new year.

When I was applying for my role, I went to the company's website and there was a banner announcing they were rebranding under a new name and linking to the new website.

I tried to do some research on the company and the best I could find was that some of the founders left and I think they were trying to position their software beyond the crypto space.

The funny thing is I think certain aspects of crypto could work in other areas of tech. But i think people's suspicion will make it harder to view any positives from any of it.

I legit feel bad for everything happening with Twitter, it’s ruined. Mass amount of people losing jobs around the holidays, stories about badge access being fukked up, payroll dept left, people with visas who basically can’t leave. Then shyt like tax season, those W2’s will be late at best. Some people may need to file quickly since they aren’t working.

It’s so sad.
