Good internal interview with our parent company . Job frozen smh. I want to do something different bad but leaving here is a gamble.
I’ve had at least 5 companies in a row tell me I did great on interviews and would receive an offer. Only to get that denial email. The job market is different now. Don’t take it personal and keep shooting.
My new gig asked me if I want to start a month earlier than scheduled(December vs January).
December will give me a quiet month to launch and some change in my pocket but I’m kinda enjoying my break.
I like it. Let's see what the response is.Tell them yes, but you already had a family trip planned the last two weeks of December so you're not stuck there during the holidays
It's just base salary and usually a bullshyt range. But it's a start.NYC brehs getting that pay transparency on job postings tomorrow...this is huge having all those big NY companies have to reveal pay ranges
Agent quality posting. Dap undap angry dap negged reportedGot forced back into the office last week. I was dreading this since late 2020 but the experience is completely different than pre-Covid.
It helps that my company upgraded their office/location so that it's 130 steps from the bus stop (yes I counted), but the commute is chill thanks to more companies offering hybrid, & at the job, there's a lot less people so less small talk/hearing someone shytting in the bathroom
Lowkey, the office has been so quiet that it feels like I'm WFH w/ better amenities. I'd rather just WFH permanently but if you are getting forced back into the office, I would try it out beforehand, and then look to quit if you ain't feeling it.
Probably a good excuse for a salary reset when things pick up again. These tech companies' growth targets must've been ridiculous for them to be cutting and freezing hiring the way they are.
Loaded themselves up with cheap debt thinking the tech rally was going to continue forever.
It looks like other sectors were more conservative with their approaches but I guess we'll see in a few months.
