One of my former employer's just hit me with a nice little $500 contract. :ehh:
It's a nice foot in the door for me to follow up with a "contract on call" type of situation. 1 contract a month and that's a nice little $6k over the course of the year. Cash. :ehh:
Add that to my salary and we in business for growing multiple streams of income. 2018 hasn't started yet but there's a good platform for it.

Condensing your life into a handful of boxes ain't easy :francis:. I've done a lot of moving in my life but this shyt never gets any easier. With any luck I'll fall in love with the area and never have to do a serious move again. Time to start plotting for a multi-million dollar house.

2017 failed at every venture. I ignored those that told me I was headed in the wrong direction and lost an entire year. Everybody in my circle cant fathom not working for the YT man so Im on my own. My personalty or lack there of is making my entreprenuerial journey more difficult than it has to be. I have to do something to get out of my comfort zone asap

I can't shake the feeling like the US stock market it going to correct itself pretty soon. :patrice:

I'll need to bump up my unemployed savings to at least 6 months. 3 months isn't enough.

Thank the Lord Naija is a fall back option.

Not really financially related but one of the greatest pieces of advice my father gave me was "to live small when you're starting out".

I'm about 9 months into the workforce living the DC-Metro area. I'm pulling pretty good income from my job and other ventures. But what's been really keeping my head dry is the savings I get from my rent. $500 a month is looking more and more like a steal each and every day. It's not what you make but what you save and invest.

The key to America (and life if general) is to be as independent as possible. A huge part of that is not owing anyone or institution. Debt (excessive one at least) is just slavery.

My new job has been going good so far and i've been mostly trained on things. haven't been trained on incoming phone calls, just processing faxes but that will come soon. There's space in the office now so half of my training class, myself included, are moving from the offsite hotel we were at for the past month. i go to the main building tomorrow morning. nervous and excited cuz i haven't worked in an office setting ever. but i feel like i'll do well. the training class was great. met a bunch of good people and we be cracking up in there. still managed to get work done tho. i can balance the two. i hear its more strict in the office so i'll just have to adapt. so tomorrow morning when we go in and i get settled, i'm gonna mess with my skype. i found out that you can add a picture on there and im gonna put one of some old balding white guy. confuse my coworkers. they be like "that's not what you look like" ima be like "did you just assume my appearance?" they gonna revoke my im privileges. :russ:

So I started at the main building today and everything was ok. Gotta get used to an office setting. Crazy thing was tell me how one of the girls from my class was telling me that the cafeteria CHARGES FOR THE UTENSILS!! I was like :dahell:. Ima bring my own box if need be. I didn't try the food but it better be good as fukk if they charging. Surprised they don't charge us to use the tables and chairs too. :stopitslime:

I have a 1/2 hour interview tomorrow at 1:30pm. This woman from one of the two companies I have to deal with, wanted to meet me at 12pm, so we could have lunch and "prep" for the interview. One, I'm not eating right before an interview. I have bad nerves and I'll fukk around and vomit the whole lunch on the conference room table. Secondly, who "preps" someone an hour before? Thirdly, I just don't want to eat lunch with you, random white lady. I like eating lunch with people I know :manny:

So I told her I would feel more comfortable "prepping" the day before, not an hour before, so she suggested we meet in the lobby at 1:15. I told her I will be there by 1pm and I will see her at that time. By 1:15, I'll be checking in with the receptionist, so I can start the interview at exactly 1:30 or at least show I was there waiting.I really believe she just wants to see what I look like and what I'll wear. I've never had anyone want to meet with me on the day of an interview to "prep".

Started reading about essentialism and I'm totally refocused my efforts in one direction. Didn't realize how much time I was wasting on little stuff that was just for show and faux peace of mind. It's truly a discipline.
