Recruiter call yesterday: They were hiring 2 support people to take over for an MSP. Company has grown like 3x in a year. 500 users, salary: 60 - 80k. What????
shytty. How do yall see the job market Q4 and into 2023?
I find myself having to repeat and dumb it down a lot for clients tbh-not in a condescending or they’re stupid way but I find their priorities shift, they take a while to know what they really want and it can take weeks to get shyt done. They can be unrealistic in their expectations but you have to be firm but “nice” so to speak. I will say if you do a good job they have no problem shouting you out Or requesting to work with you/bringing you more work. I just got a big W adding another $40k to a $75k project by what I first mentioned!People who have client facing roles: how do you deal with people effectively?
I dont btw (but this is an area ive struggled with in the past)
That is the groove my guy . Few office workers are giving a full 8 hours, pre or post Covid. Rather than trying to look busy to keep up appearances, you're just doing something else with that time. I literally used to rebuild my code for a couple hours at a time just for an excuse to sit around. Now I just do what the fukk I want and get back to things when I do and STILL outproducing the people around me.I dunno, man..
I haven't found a groove in this WFH shyt. I be in bed most of the day
A change in manager can ruin a good damn thing.my manager i reported directly is leaving to take a different position in the company...sucks because she understands how i worked and let me do my thing...no micro managing..so i temporarily will have to be reporting to her manager....a senior director .who is a big micromanager...in this week alone she has interjected herself in a way that has annoyed me greatly...well my 5 years comes up in may so i will see how things will be...like damn the salary raises i want a promotion....i have 2 projects on my agenda with a possible 3rd....very public facing ones...if i do those and there is nothing...i too will look for a different position in the company if that what it takes
You have to create a schedule for yourself. I plan my day around meetings, but I prefer to do the bulk of my work in the evenings. No one to bother you.I dunno, man..

man lol...breh the best way i do is to know your shyt cold and to challenge things ppl say...i have to do with this senior management as well as my developers constantly..that way they dont challenge you on some shyt you might not be prepared to answer on the spot lolPeople who have client facing roles: how do you deal with people effectively?

sweetheart who are you tellin'? right now im cool but it all depends on who i will be reporting to nextA change in manager can ruin a good damn thing.
Interesting question because there are two schools of thought:How do yall see the job market Q4 and into 2023?
Interesting question because there are two schools of thought:
1. Rapidly rising inflation rates typically cause companies to pause hiring as they can't borrow money to fund ongoing expansion. They also slow down economic activity which usually leads to layoffs. You're seeing some of that at the moment(especially in tech) and will increase over the next few months.
2. Some companies are actually hoarding talent as they can't afford to go through the same hiring crisis they went through during the height of the pandemic.
In short, think it will depend on the industry. Overall, probably not great.
PAIN. Cracks already showing and only going to get worse.. They are determined to reduce inflation, everyone expecting them to continue to raise rates on Nov. 1-2, Rates at moment already causing pain in streets, Many markets in real estate around country already taking a beating, Stocks and Crypto already there also, that next shoe to drop will be rates continue to raise and jobs dropping in 1st qtr '23..How do yall see the job market Q4 and into 2023?
