I prefer the impromptu meetings, but only if they message me and ask. There's been a few times where MFs will just call me out of the blue and expect my participation. I don't mind helping people - shyt I'd even go so far as to say I enjoy helping people - but you gotta ask for it first. What I hate is when people schedule meetings with like 15 people on the call, but there are only like 3 interested parties. My PM does that, just loves to schedule meetings for the sake of having them.

I feel you, but yesterday the timing was off. I had like three meetings, half to one hour between one another and someone taking that time in between to show something. It was like a 5 hour string of meetings and I was just exhausted at the end of the day.

That was basically my Monday this week. 6 hours back to back to back through the end of the day.

Found out about

www.level.fyi

the other day. People posting their offer letters in order to crowdsourcing salary data, but they massage the numbers a little bit.

I get on there and find our own Recruiters posting their offer letters :ohhh:
I can cross reference the dates, office location, and pay details to figure out who these folks are since I'm the one who approves these offers in the first place

So pumped! I got something I'd been working on all day figured out just before calling it quits for the day. I was making it so difficult and turned out to the the simplest thing. :francis:

My manager is letting me spearhead a project. We had a meeting today and the stakeholder has this spreadsheet she wants dumped into Qlik. She explains the project and then is like "Let's follow up next week". I interject like let's do the week after, since we have Monday off. She goes "It's just one day off". LOL Ma'am you could always attempt the project yourself. I don't understand the purpose of speaking week to week, when I could use a week to build a prototype and we can meet to discuss changes/updates the following week. I'm just used to working in 2 week sprints that way.

Well it's Tequila time! Happy Weekend everyone.

I had a recruiter zoom call.

She asked my salary expectations so I asked what the range was. She said they don’t give out a range because it’s human nature to choose the highest in the range.

Actually I think most people pick something near the midpoint so that they don't come off as greedy :skip:.

The range thing only works if you bring it up first. Once they've ask first, just give them your number or your range. LOL and the fact they asked first, means you let them do too much talking :russ:

Them: Hi, we have a position open with company blah blah blah

You: How much does it pay?

If you like that answer, then you let them drone on with lies about how good the position and company are.

Thank you for this!! I was JUST reminiscing about how much clock I've burned because these companies are unorganized af. I was reading a story where dude said he's on his 5th job at $120/hr. I've given myself 6 months to get situated in this role and I'm definitely looking again. I got money to make.

If you live in certain states CT, NY, California, Colorado, amongst others, it's required for job postings to have the salary range listed.

LOL I was going to wait a few months but this recruiter, Rachel, sent me a role via LinkedIn. I've been reading this overemployment reddit, so I'm out here ready with nothing to lose...per say because I already have a job. I am acting a complete ass!!

Me: Does this support an hourly rate of at least $70/hr
Rachel: That's on the higher end, but for the right candidate...

Me to myself: Rachel if ya'll can't afford my talent, just say that. :lolbron:

But nah, I'm talking to Rachel this afternoon. Going to see what's up.
