I passed the interviews, I just need more writing samples. I only had 2 when I applied. I’m going up try to jump into an open source project and see if they’ll let me write some of their documentation.
So you actually have to show them writing samples from previous jobs?

The ones I showed were written for my application. The topics were chosen by them. My previous jobs were IT roles, so I don't have anything to show them. And I guess it's why I didn't get the job.

I'm looking through Github issues to see if anyone needs a doc writer.

Sys admin job
$105,001 - $115,000 a year

just dealing with active directory :shaq:

but must have 5 years of experience :francis:

Many of these jobs say you must have several years experience and be super tech man. Some of the job descriptions I read literally make me laugh out loud.

It may be true in some cases, but I've been hired when I've had little to no experience in a certain area but the recruiters liked me and saw the potential. Just go for it anyway, you have nothing to lose.

Any advice on balancing a job offer while I’m still interviewing? The offer is pretty good, but one of the jobs looks a lot closer to what I want to do.

It just seems kinda scumbag to accept the offer and then decline it if the other place comes through.

You can let them know you need additional time to consider their offer.

Or just bounce if the other offer comes thru :yeshrug:

Jobs aren’t people, they don’t have feelings. They will lay you off the day before a holiday and a week after giving you a promotion and referring to you as “family”.

Do what’s best for you. If the other job comes through and you like it better, leave. Put in your notice, remain positive and push forward. You dont owe them anything.

It's not like you're telling a chick you love her and then bouncing.

These are the same companies that interview candidates and don't even bother to tell them they didn't get the position.

They do what's best for them all the time and there's always someone else out there who can fill the role, so just do you.

Has anyone in here used the Azure REST API? Do you know how to use the nextLink in the response body to get the next page of results? I'm trying to access some key vault secrets but even when I use nextLink, it gives me the same results followed by the same nextLink. Docs talmbout just use the next link until it's null :skip:

passed that cert. That makes 4 cybersecurity certifications beside my name, and 2 more by the end of the month (job is requiring all of us to ceritfy in siemplify since we're implementing SOAR).

Happy, but wish my income reflected my credentials. I know it'll come as I gain more experience.

what are some examples of self-starting cybersecurity projects someone could do to get themselves to standout more? I gotta battle brads, wyatts, sukhwinders and jasdeeps to get my just due unfortunately.

I've been finessing like hell for the past two months at my job. Consulting has taught me that many people in this space are full of shyt and do a lot of CYA :mjlol:

What type of consulting do you do? I am exploring consulting as an option too for my next role. I do not want to travel. I want to go cyber security consulting.
