The non profit lady finally sent me the data and I was working through something last week and couldn't figure it out for the life of me. I spent a few hours over two days and decided to take a break for a couple days. Revisited on Sunday, grabbed a pen, pad, sketched out the data model and had the solution in 10 minutes.

Interview at 1pm for a Data Analyst position. This the one ya'll (I say that about everything now :heh: ) I'm feeling good because it's an analyst role and not developer. I've been bombing those developer interviews, mainly due to lack of experience.

4 hours of interviews today and I mess up in the 2nd hour. FML.

I didn’t get the job. But the interviewers liked me a lot. I just don’t have enough experience. Recruiter is going to reach out this summer and if I can build a tech writing portfolio, I might be able to get the job. And she said I won’t have to interview again.

aye brehs this is my first time posting in this sub forum so don't clown me too hard if these are stupid questions :hubie:

so i just started a cybersecurity internship with practically zero IT experience and initially these are the 2 things I need clarification on

1. The DNS hierarchy and the order in regards to root, TLD(top level domain), and sub domain

2. How to identify(quickly) whether an IP address is public or private. The ranges in particular

I'm googling and youtubing this as we speak but I figured I would also ask here cuz you brehs are in all likelihood a great resource for these kinda questions also and may be able to explain it better for me or supppement what I already think(?) I know thus far

Private IPs are in 4 ranges

10.0.0.0/8
172.16.0.0/12
192.168.0.0/16
100.64.0.0/10

Check RFC 1918. The 100 space was just added as private space, idk the RFC off hand :yeshrug:

I would google those interview question articles. I missed out on a much higher paying job because I didn't take the interview serious enough. Thought I could just wing it but I'll never do that again. From now on cramming as much useless information before an interview is a must.

I passed the interviews, I just need more writing samples. I only had 2 when I applied. I’m going up try to jump into an open source project and see if they’ll let me write some of their documentation.
