Question on the resumes: when listing the location of your job, do you go by the major metro area (a la Linkedin) or do you go for the actual town/city you're in.
Example, let's say you're working in the tech industry and the company is based out of Berkeley (which is like 20-25 mins from SF proper) do you put Berkley, CA for location or SF Metro Region, CA for location?
The former is more precise but I feel the latter signals the competitiveness of your experience since you're working in the "capital" of your industry e.g. NYC for Finance, Broadcast Journalism; Boston for Research; DC for Politics, Law, International Relations; Chicago for Derivatives/Options/Futures Finance; SF for Tech. Plus it's easier to orient readers.

Yep, we just had a company wide call this morning about the need for expense control and how we will have to displace some employees by the end of the year. 2 hours later, I get the meeting request for my managers whole team, which includes me
