This is why i said the fukk corporate world, you have to jump through way too many hoops for a job you either wont like, wont like your colleagues or getting underpaid or worse a mix of all 3. The glory days of the classical white collar corporate jobs are long gone most dont even pay benefits these days :francis:

I actually feel we are trending toward a less traditional work culture, which is why I’m looking to work remotely. I’m closer to finding “success“ working for someone else, than if I started my own business, so I just need to keep at this path.

Had a convo with a friend from high school yesterday and she's a fed employee, non supervisory GS14. She worked her way up from a GS9. I received a notification that my application wasn't referred to a hiring manager for one of the IT Specialist roles I applied for, but like with most jobs, I obviously didn't put enough or the right keywords on my resume. For the position my friend told me about, she told me specifically to add "EDW" and now I get why. I'm guessing the person hiring is responsible for letting them know which key word(s) to flag. I'm going to keep applying to more for the hell of it.

Decided focus on trying to pimp this Masters degree. This "jack of all trades" thing I have going on is going to drive me insane. I've researched Qlik, SAS, and Project Management certifications all within the last few months, meanwhile my degree is 2 months old. I did a few job searches just based on having a masters and there were just as many opportunities in my salary range. I feel it will be easier to sell a completed M.S program, versus pending certification(s).

Realizing more and more I'm an ideas man. Don't really have the gumption to follow through on many ideas, I just want someone else to actually do the thing. How do I continue doing something like this?

Certain aspects of consulting and business development are like this. An example in our current climate is say a company develops an educational model and/or software (idea), they then try to sell this idea to schools to implement. You're still going to have to put in some work to be knowledgeable.

Pandemic got corporate hirings on a freeze now. Need to reevaluate my current job strategy.

Staying in our family house for the time being so I'll cancel my apartment lease once this month is up. I'll keep as much cash as I can for the time being. I'm still employed but there isn't really a need to spend right now.

GMAT prep has been going well but this damn quant section. Very likely I'll be applying for intake of 2022 unless I can run up my quant section by the end of summer and shoot out a couple apps before R1 ends in summer.

I started making the calls this morning, letting companies know I won't have bill money for June. Called my utility company and the lady was like "Your account isn't past due", but yeah it's about to be in a few weeks!!! She basically told me to call back then :heh: That blew my morning and made me sad. This afternoon is looking up though. Got a call about another role and bravely stated my range of $61-$65/hr and she said the max salary was at the low end of my range and would I be comfortable with that. You mf'n right!! :pachaha:LOL, but I was nonchalant on some "I guess that's ok". Whole time facing destitution! She asked for some writing samples though, so I forwarded her some work from my Masters program, which I was thankful I kept organized because otherwise I would have be fukked.
