Well the process is underway, I'm not going to run away this time around. I have a self imposed deadline of the 25th to get back to them with some dates. Maybe I'll shoot for an April timeframe. I recommend this guy's book. Three chapter's in and it's great personal finance info. Granted I do some of it already but still a good recap.

I'm an accountant but not a tax accountant. So it's a headache for me too. I hate taxes.
Another interview this week. F2F this time around. If I get it I'll try to see if I can stall on accepting. I'm still trying to hold out for this other company that's posting a role that's more my suit and is better located in the city. Not a fan having to drive everyday to work. I like the option of driving or taking the train.
Sounds like my project got pushed back yet again but haven't gotten an explanation why yet. It should be an interesting next few weeks.

thinking about going back to my old job...really can't stand the role/culture of the new gig. old job has a role open on a new product line in the NY office - i left b/c i was over the product i was working on and wanted to move out east. plus my manager left and his job is open - wonder if they'd hire me to run the marketing team

Nothing better than investing and knowing what you're doing. Was having a conversation with my best friend this evening about 401k and whatnot. He clueless as hell and got a 401k at work where he's putting in like 5 or 6% and has one fund which is a target date fund. His account made $500 last year and he makes over six figures.
I get no company match since my job sucks being contract and I have an IRA on my own. I didn't even clear 40k last year before taxes. I put in maybe $120 a month and my balance was 33,306 at the end of 2018. Today its at 50142. He was shocked that I was able to grow my account by 17k in like a year with just putting 120 a month. But thats the thing about knowing what you doing. You can make less than most and end up with more if you smart about it. Ima help restructure his account when I see him this weekend. Gotta be smart with the money out here, especially since I don't make that much.
