I passed that technical interview but they filled the position before I could get the full onsite interview with the manager. Recruiter told me she'd put me up for the position again as the job opens up a few times a year (kinda a red flag, tbh).

--

Had a backup position paying $2k less than that job at a smaller company for a Desktop Support role. Had a 45 minute interview last week and this morning an hour long PANEL interview. :unimpressed:

Just got the call stating I got the job. Glad to finally be out of the helpdesk role...already thinking about how I'm about to finesse my resume to make it look lile I have 3 years of desktop support experience so I can parlay this into an even better paying job late 2020.

Yesterday I started my new job as a Desktop Support Tech but learned that I’m really just going to be building the KB and picking up extra tickets here and there. Wack.

Today the recruiter for the job I didn’t get after the technical interview called to ask me to come in for the final interview.

Thank God! :whew:

I feel bad because I like the people I’ve met here so far and it’s a small company, but the money calling meeeeee

I've grown a sour taste with the American tech industry. I'm going to use 2020 to plot my 5 yr plan to international investments/business. The tech bubble in America is going to burst and it will be ugly.
The IT market has literally been a shyt show for decades. I'm still shocked at how poorly managed most companies are when it comes to technology. That's why I keep jumping ship to make the most money I possibly can before everything implodes. My salary has jumped 35K in the last 3 years because companies are looking for savior's. Instead of firing the idiots running their IT Departments into the ground.

exactly man. Like sometimes it's mind blowing how talenteless people/leadership is then have the nerve to be arrogant. Technology isn't going anywhere but a lot of the fluff is going to get exposed soon, so I'm trying to cash out now and eliminate debt so I will be straight when things blow up + can get my businesses in motion.

Me too. I've got a 10 year plan and for the next 5 years I'm trying to reach 120K in salary. That way I can leave this godforsaken field and the idiots working in it behind.

About the only joy I get now is watching hackers expose these companies left and right. All these breaches are gonna clean out most of the dead weight in the field. And push management to hire based on ability and qualifications. Too many IT Departments are staffed with ass-kissing idiots these days. The last two jobs I had neither lasted over a year. Both places were dumpster fires that expected you to come in and save them. I quickly found employment elsewhere and laughed at them while walking out the door.

My thing is all these companies talk this non sense about wanting to be Innovative, selling you kool aid when you are interviewing, bring you in and when you try to do what they hired you for they get on some :whoa:. I see how a lot of cats say screw becoming managers and just coast the rest of their careers once they get to a certain level.

The problem is most companies view IT as a necessary evil instead of an ally. So a lot of them never properly invest in IT like they should. We have medical facilities running XP and 2003 still:francis:. That's why I always say I don't want to be in management at my current company. Why beat my head against the wall trying to get someone to do the right thing. Management makes a little more than me and deals with million times more headaches. If someone doesn't want to do something I suggest, I just pass it over to my manager and let him deal with the headache:hubie:

yep avoid those guys they only make money from selling whatever product they try to sell. From what i understand and have read oversaturation for certain niches is not necessarily a bad thing because it means the niche is profitable.

20k a month :whoo: amazon affiliate
