I said it Saturday night he should hire Jonathan Banks to help with that
i dont know a whole lot about how banks likes to work with his guys. i know steward liked to get the right hand at the chest, so that, ideally, it is always in a position to parry, and to shoot out the right hand real quick.

there is an interview where he talks about that, and a lot of other things you wont hear anybody else talking about, in detail.

an example of a fighter that keeps the right hand in that position would be sugar ray robinson. another example would be jimmy young. that shoots your right hand out quicker, so that, if youre working your jab, you never see it. the idea being that it hits you in an instant. you kind of slide it in quick off the jab, if i am making sense.

that is the emanuel steward right hand. if you get a chance, watch those videos. he talks about a lot of stuff you will not hear anybody say anymore. one of the things he used to say a lot was that, theres no more knockouts today, and he said its because guys wont follow through anymore. he said its because everybody is hitting pads and the trainers wont let them follow through. they reach out and tap your hand down. so everybody looks real good on the pads but nobody can punch. he is right about that and a lot of other things.

Manny Stewart kicking some holy grail type knowledge. That's the kind of knowledge that's missing & was lost when he passed.

Banks was trained by Stewart & holds his right hand in that position he spoke about above & how VK emulated. Timed stamped it for you bro:

that jab gets your arm so tired cause you got to lift the entire weight of your arm each time you throw it.

you dont see guys throwing that jab steady a lot. its like lifting weights. your arm gets so, so heavy and you dont want to throw it.

but pump your jab you can give a guy your jab for 3 minutes.

that is one of the things that, among a couple of other specific things he does, emanuel steward would attempt to incorporate.

Saw a video with Lennox Lewis talking to wilder about his jab. He said you gotta think of your jab like a piston in a car. It’s not a long, drawn out punch. Snaps out and in like a machine.

Man has a seriously problem against shorter pudgy fighters
images
Everyone has got a weakness. Shorter arms are better for fighting close and AJ likes to mix it up so he'll always be at a disadvantage against a short heavy if he can't overpower them. AJ just needs to either not fight guys so much shorter or learn how to snap his jab and fight tall.
Also don't want to take anything from Andy Ruiz. It seems like anybody that seem him fight previously knew he was a diamond in the rough and would've been a problem for AJ which he ended up being. Curious to see if he'll rematch AJ or take on the winner of Wilder/Fury next
