1. Gotta see Ortiz and Boots

2. You think the stoppage was too soon by the corner? He did land Cleaner shots and could’ve got him

I think everyone had seen enough to know his only hope was to land a lucky punch. How much more punishment do you allow for hopes of that punch which has a slimmer chance of landing?

He wasn't landing as much and his punches were starting to lose snap.

Don’t look at that. Look at how frustrating his was to hit. This has happened many times without fighters taking a tenth of the punishment. All he needed was that busted nose and a good body shot.

Hitchins said he was surprised. He should not have been. As it got closer to fight time I didn’t think Stan had much of a chance. I want to be careful how I rate fighters especially just because they have a belt. Belts don’t necessarily mean much it’s how you get them. Butaev could easily had been in this fight and has basically the same record as Stan. Stan got SD in that fight then beat a guy who was 6-1-1. Clearly Boots is the Spence of the division now but there are no Porters, Garcias, or Brooks. I like Hearn thinking of Norman next. Then see where to go after that.

To bad Crawford is chasing canelo but I get it he’s old now

That fight will still be there for him after. A win over canelo does more for his legacy. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.

And bud at this point still beats boots. Probably even stops him. Bud got the better defense and more pop. Chukha wouldn’t have survived against bud. And definitely not twice.

Great stuff from Boots, I fully expected him to win comfortably but the way he dismantled and stopped Stanionis was impressive. I was a bit surprised his corner called it though. Not that I thought he had a realistic chance to turn it around but usually the fighter and his corner are the last ones to admit that.

I’ve seen Hearn yapping about Ennis vs Bud but I don’t see that fight being realistic unless Boots follows Bud in higher divisions and he won’t and shouldn’t.

I’d like to see Boots against Ryan Garcia just to see Ryan Garcia get knocked out again.
And of course further unifications too. And ofc the Ortiz fight even if Ortiz is at 154 now.

It won’t be, not anywhere below 160. He might not grow into being a full 168er but he already filled out 154 and now at 37 years old he’s going up to 168, probably putting on at least some amount of mass. Considering all this it’s very unlikely that he’ll go down multiple weight classes.

It will be dumb for him to try to come back down from 168 to 154 or 47

147 been done. He was only still there because of Spence. Wouldn’t say 154 is out of question but likely is. I think if Bud fights after this it’s at 160.

BTW. That ship been sailed. Bud offered him a fight before Spence fight was signed. Boots turned it down in favor of a network that don’t have boxing anymore. (Was the excuse)
