It's nfunny because TLR is usually against entrepreneurship (i know, i preach that on here all the time and nikkas get mad and neg me), so i really think their true reason for picking the dinner isn't for "business connections" , they just want to take a pic with Jay and hope that maybe he'll give them a "job" :mjlol:

I'm not saying 50k is "a lot of money", but i'd rather take the guaranteed money than some "possible connections". I already have/own stuff that i could invest the 50k in.

Nothing against Jay but he comes off as a bougie nikka to me, i can't see him really taking random nikkas seriously even if they did have legitimate business plans, he'd be the type to tell them, "yeah i got you, i'll have them call you" and then they never anything about it again

nikkas love symbolism though, that's why they're picking the chance to meet him and "maybe" get some connections. The money is guaranteed, the "connections" aren't, so i'd take the money.

People talking bout a janitor could offer to clean Roc offices for free and parlay that into other opportunities..

I'm just going to have to say you are flat out wrong, and yes, that is how the world works. It's surprising to see that its easier than it seems in some aspects to be successful because that takes away from the victim narrative.

I was put into the White House on a project with Obama, no degree, tats on my hands, etc, work unseen, because someone that the original invitee respected told him I was cool. That person and I (and his employees) had drinks one night at a bar, and then talking about life and projects, he said maybe I should jump on a call with them in a week or so - after that call, they said hey rock with us to the meeting, and so on and so forth.

I'm not saying Jay-Z is going to give you Kanye's number or the CEO of Apple or anything, but how the hell do you think you get to those people? They have people on top of people on top of people to vet and run these operations - so if he says "Go holla at Joe" and Joe is some menial person, that is still way further and deeper then you meeting Joe on your own - and Joe still is a name in Jay-Z's mouth. So, Joe can get you a small gig, you crush it, he can get you a bigger gig, you crush it and meet someone else, etc etc. 50k is chump change to that - oh, and you did have dinner with Jay-Z, one on one, where you can post that pic that literally millionaire celebs don't even have - which to others, make them feel like your worth AT LEAST a shot or meeting.

Think bigger. I did it, you're smart, do better than me.

Ok breh, think Jay is connecting random
folks he meets for janitorial contracts if you want :mjlol:

50 grand easy

Jay Z is not the astute businessman the way he portrays himself as in his music...

Jay Z is just a nikka with a good job and the white people he’s around give him financial advice (crumbs really) and he takes it and runs with it like he’s Warren Buffet or something :mjlol:

If you want some game about the music industry and the deal that isn’t going to fukk you over the most take the dinner... I’m sure he can tell you all about that.

Jay Z is one of the few rappers with an actual business vs a side hustle.

For the question in the op give me the 50k.

Oh 50K is light guap now.....

Every small business on earth would love extra 50 racks right now

Amazing

Yea it is, I mean are you serious? There are Instagram Speakers that I know that run classes and sell small product that businesses make 50k a month, and they are not caking heavy as in, they are not rich.

I have a franchise that I am minority owner in NY that cost up 160-200k (that's just to startup) and there's a guy that wants in and has 50k and the majority owner won't even sign off on him because he always says 50k ain't going to do nothing for us, it's not really cover real expenses. And this is a small ass business.

Now, if you literally have nothing to offer that can produce more money, then DEF take the $50k. But speaking just for me, I can personally spin a meeting with Jay-Z into way more sales than $50k. But everyone is different, no knock.

I'm always curious - what do people that talk like you tell others, or advice young people to do?

Are you currently doing something that you love to do? Have you ever done anything that is outside of the box in terms of taking a leap?

I mean, I don't know you from anyone, so you could be super successful in your own right - but IMO you sure don't talk like it.

To each their own.

I know different nikkas who have met Russell Simmons, Kanye (around the time of Late Registration or Graduation), Pharrell/The Neptunes and 50 Cent, and they didn't get any "connections" at all. Just a chance to say they met them and shook their hand, or maybe ate with them. They were actually all cool for the most part, but i think you dudes are expecting a lot from this one dinner.

I forgot one, one of my cousins met Nelly before and same thing for him. Most people just end up being able to say they met or kicked it with the person. You may get some generic advice, but you probably won't get "connections" from this dinner. You'd have to already be "somebody" in their industry for that to happen. Or at least have a decent buzz. I'm not an aspiring rapper, artist, actor etc i already have a small business that does pretty good and some property. i'd just put the 50k into my stuff.

In the end you'll just be like, "i met jay z!"

"What do u have to show for it?"" :francis:" talking about maybe he'll like my mixtape or sign me to roc nation....nikka this is one dinner, they get tired of ppl always pushing their mixtape on them or begging for a job...you'll still be working at checkers or wal mart after that dinner...these nikkas better take that 50k and invest:heh:pick the option of "connections" that you may not get brehs

Breh giving up 50k on the off chance that Jay-Z would link you with someone who can get you a big janitorial contract is a ridiculous bet to make. All that's going to result in is you hating Jay-z cuz he didn't "make a simple phone call" or some shyt.

This is just a hypothetical, but I posted a real life example of what happened when a coli breh paid $2k for a meeting with Daymond John. Coli breh was all upset cuz Daymond wouldn't even give him some factory connects to help get kickstart his business idea.

You simply can't downplay the significance of $50k. It is a lot of money that would go a long way towards starting a janitorial business. To advise someone to forgo that on the off chance that they'd impress Jay enough that he'd make calls on their behalf is terrible advice.
