Just go look at that 106 and park interview with them. Look at how they are dressed.

Kanye looks normal, 50 looks like he came from the past.

Kanye kicked in the door for all the cornball nikkaz rappers that we have today tho.
Every nikka that u love was birth by this nikka.
They should give him a statue

We ready to admit that 50 cent is one of the biggest excuse making fakkits of all time? :francis:

I remember this time very well. 50 was shell shocked when he lost. He recorded a video sitting on a park bench lamenting his loss and trying to make excuses. Then he started walking around the park looking like a lost big foot. :mjlol:

It was probably one of the biggest moments in Hip Hop. It made it okay to not be street or gangsta for the first time since the late 80s. Even though I’m a big fan of “street” rappers, I’m glad he made it okay for guys like Cole and Kendrick to not have to portray a gangsta image to get respect.

Even Dr Dre said that Kanye won and told Fif to drop any kind of beef. To be honest, Game also did major damage to G Unit with the "One Blood" Remix, which was one of the biggest remixes of the last 20 years.

I'd say Wayne played a role too.

He wasn't as experimental or "soft" as Kanye but he played a role in popularizing being a druggie, living/looking like a rockstar, rocking dreads, and dabbling heavy in punchline rap.

Even Eminem said before that he used more punchlines in his music after Wayne's peak.

Game did the most damage. 50 was already years well on his decline by the time this shyt happened.

True. It was important because most black people aren't super hood thug nikkaz.
that moment brought in a time for regular blacks to have popular music that spoke to them and there experiences. Not just busting guns, selling crack and prison.
I can appreciate that.

The only problem that has come from that is that those blacks who make that different kind of hip hop orbit real close to white culture.
And u start seeing that seep into hip hop culture.

And u start seeing white people getting more involved in our culture because they can relate more to those artist too.

This is where we're at in hip hop

Curtis was an average album. While Graduation was a classic or near classic. The word of mouth spread and it was over after that. Plus 50’s star was starting to wane by then, he dropped singles that didn’t hit until I Get Money caught on.
Curtis was just bad. I'd even rank BISD over it.

Curtis was 50 throwing everything on the wall to see what sticks. I Get Money was the best song on there but most of the others were just blander versions of other 50 songs or songs that were trending in 2007.
