The difference is broadcasting. If the Kahn's can get AEW on a major broadcast network, or some decent syndication, then they might be set. As much as I like ROH, they're only on Sinclair stations. Other than that, you have to watch online. Something like TNA/Impact had a chance, but it had some bullshyt management in the background. Lucha Underground is decent, but it's on El Rey, which not all providers have. And if they do, it's on their top tier packages. If they can get it on say TBS, and air it on Tuesdays, after Smackdown goes to Fox and airs on Friday, or even MyNetworkTV stations, then they can have a shot at doing what the others haven't.

Also I think nwg doesn’t realize is the decrease of Wwe ratings don’t make other networks say hey let’s put a less well known wrestling product on tv cause we can do it better no it usually makes it harder to get a major deal . Also a big reason Wwe is Able to get their numbers is because they are live weekly and provide plenty of content . Not necessarily for the quality of the product

Kenny should be smart about this. Sign a 2 year deal with AEW, be part of this whole thing and try to make it special. Then take the bag if he really wants it, WWE's offer is gonna be on the table as long as he can continue to draw like he does today.

Well, in WWE-world that is an off the wall insane demand he's a nobody in Vince's mind and he wants a Brock/Jericho deal that's why you can't hate on Ibushi, he does not give a single fukk and just does what he wants.

The thing is, it's not just a big feud. It's THE feud of Kenny and Ibushi's career. They've been teasing an building to a final Tokyo Dome showdown for 6 years now, and it finally looks like a real possibility for either this year - if New Japan tries to have a 2nd Dome show in 2019 - or for WK 14.

I could be completely wrong but I feel like Omega is the kind of guy who would like to get that angle and match done before having any sort of exclusivity contract.

Idk if isee njpw giving it the stage they deserve /want . I’m very curious to see what AEW tv deal will be and who will be on the roster . Cause right now who else besides Cody and the bucks deserve belts ? Which in turn causes the haters to hate and say they are marks who book themselves on top . I’m interested but I hope some pump the breaks as they think having a billionaire backer means he’s gonna put billions of dollars into AEW . It takes time and patience . I definitely hope they can be live ( which is crazy expensive and need a great production team ) cause to me that is the biggest thing that would separate them from the other promotions.

AEW needs exclusive contracts if they want to compete with the WWE imo. Part of the appeal should be seeing the best wrestlers only on the AEW shows.

To some degree I get that, but the whole thing with Cody/Bucks was that they didn't lock themselves down and got to work everywhere and anywhere to raise their status. I can't imagine they'd want to then go swoop in and take guys from other companies and lock them down. What's more important is they offer a unique approach to storytelling that other companies aren't doing, because in reality there are only so many talents and most of them already work together anyway. What sets any given promotion apart these days isn't really talent, it's production/presentation/booking.

It's like for years how ROH/PWG used mostly the same talent yet the PWG version of the match/feud was always better. Or how you can get the same match up in LU, TNA, MLW, PWG, the UK, or Mexico, yet they can be completely different matches depending on what banner its under.

thank you. people are on some "it'll just work out because it's not WWE" type shyt. There are a lot of gambles here. Good point about WWE ratings affecting other TV stations willingness to put on AEW.

Imagine some TV exec looking at All In 1 and them dikks walk out. A meeting could end right there.
