49ers won in losing. Had they won yesterday, they end up overpaying Garoppolo

Joe Flaco blazed the trail for average QBs who got hot at the right time to get paid with the hopes that it was his cming out party into the realm of elite QBs.
We all saw how that worked out :skip:
Look at it this way: Drew Breeze was barely average in San Diego until he got hot. They still drafted Phillip Rivers thinking Breeze wasnt worth paying big money. Dude went to the Saints and the rest is history. So yeah... i can see how a team will hope their average QB with the right team around him will somehow get hot and become elite.

Jimmy G... I dont know. I need larger samples of seeing dude play before i call it but i wouldnt have given him that huge contract either. But hey im just a casual and people who get paid to scout players thought he was worth it. We'll see
Flacco is just an odd case, cause dude was far from a game manager or average when it came to the playoffs.

So no Super Bowl title?

No guarantee they’ll get back anytime soon regardless of who is QB

Well fair enough, then bringing up anything from last night has zero to do with how he’s been overall. Neither QB played a lights out great game and Jimmy was only 2 plays really from being an MVP.

The bad PI call on Kittle and that bomb to Sanders that as someone last night pointed out in the thread (he pulled up on)

Neither were they either 10+ years ago and that’s my point, season by season they got better. No one was “elite” overnight.

If at any part of this season Jimmy looked like Hoyer, Barkley, Gabbert, or Kaep the last few seasons with no weapons. I’d be inclined to say “ok move on”

But he is still a good QB and I can’t name a better QB available to replace him with right now. And this is a “win now window wise” team. Ain’t no one coming out of college that we could pick up that’s gonna take us to another 13-3 season and back to the SB.

We gonna have to not overreact and ride with this

Tua would be a huge upgrade, especially in that offense.

Just like I always say fans would rather have the CHANCE to win the next 5 titles than to actually win one the current year. Makes no fukking sense.
I’m looking at teams being stuck with highly paid shyt qbs limiting their opportunities.

It’s the Jets fan in me seeing it with Sanchez

The team that loses the Super Bowl rarely makes it back. The opportunity was the game they lost. No matter how you cut it they didn't win a damn thing by losing Sunday.
Again...the Jets fan in me with Sanchez. :mjcry:
