49ers won in losing. Had they won yesterday, they end up overpaying Garoppolo

I don’t see him as better than Dak. I just don’t. Dakota was hamstrung by one of the dumbest coaches in football. He’s better than what he’s shown.
Now I agree Dak and the entire team was held back by Garrett. But Dak's garbage time stats make him look better than what he actually is. And like u said....he can be hella inaccurate at times and I don't know how much that can be coached and fixable.

TYRONE GA!
Tua would be a huge upgrade, especially in that offense.

:patrice:

I wouldn't be opposed to this at all. Draft Tua and let Jimmy play out his last year or 2. The saving grace of that deal he got is it was heavily front loaded. :blessed:

No dog. It doesn't. That was blatant. He should have used his elbow to keep separation.

Kittle is a BEAST and still learning.

But basically first year starter Jimmy G got it all figured out and has nothing more to learn right lol....

I don’t find him to be a an that looks beyond his first read and he over relies on his first read and is a liability when his run game isn’t working.

here’s what should worry you. The Niners run game may every well not be the same next season because the league adjusts. Teams are going to dare Jimmy to beat them, and I simply don’t see him having the it factor. So you can dead all that next shyt you were on.

So much for your football knowledge lol. The Shanahans have been run experts for over 2 decades now, you think that's just gonna end next year.

Not even a 49ers fan, but they were on my teams to watch list to start the season, so I watched every single game. He performed and won games when both the running game and defense were subpar at certain points. It's up to him to improve and work on his weaknesses in the off-season.

That game and his final drives against the Hawks and Rams in the last few weeks of the season, gave me some hope he'd make the right throws when it mattered. But he looked extremely limited last night. That deep ball overthrow :francis:
that was the game right there
you hate to see it

I don’t care about stats. I’m talking decision making. I sat through two Cowboys games the past two years and I left impressed with Daks decision making, especially pre snap. He diagnoses mismatches quickly. And he’s a bit more poised under pressure than Jimmy.

let’s see what Dakota does with his new coach

49ers..Braves..Celtics
You know eventually another team is going to go back to the Super Bowl and then all these hot takes of "it can't be done! It's a curse!" Will die because all it is right now is a coincidence. 49ers themselves were one play away from going back in '13.

Eh. Contract be damned Jimmy is our QB until 2022. There is no QB that will be there this draft class. So that doesn't make sense. If Jimmy makes that throw to Emmanual Sanders or they do a non call on that Kittle catch are we keeping this same energy? Probably not. Long story short is Jimmy elite no but he's already proven he's good enough to make us a perennial playoff contender as long as he stays healthy. I mean that's good enough.
We wouldn't be having this discussion if he made the throw to Sanders because it was the determiner in his actual skill (for this year, at least). If he was actually a great QB, then he'd be able to make that throw in his sleep.

But the thing is almost no 49er fan said he was a 'great' QB to begin with. We know what we have in him, are aware of his strengths and weaknesses and will still take him over anyone on the roster , anyone we can draft for the next couple of years, any impending FA including Tom Brady or Phillip Rivers. If he regresses next year we can cut bait then. This is his 1st healthy season back from a severe ACL injury that if you remember came from the Kansas City game on the road. Understand Kyle Shanahan runs one of the most complicated offensive schemes in all the NFL, I am not saying this to brag but understand almost any QB who has never played in this system is going to take at MINIMUM 2 years to take in and we cannot afford to do that. We went from bottom feeders to contenders so now we have to move like a contender, we committed to Jimmy Garapollo it literally makes no sense to cut bait until at soonest the end next season even then and he would have to be a disaster.

Depending how you rank QBs in the NFL, this season he has been no worse than top 10-12 this year, worse QBs than him have rings.

But we are a team.

We made the playoffs as a team and all 3 phases of the ball contributed to our loss in the Superbowl, we lost as a team.

I agree...I wanna see Dak with a new coach. But I still think Jimmy G is better and preformed better than Dak this past season. His games against Saints, Cards, and the last Rams games had me impressed some, especially the Saints game. Y'all should (well y'all have to) stick with him for another year. Jimmy does need to work on his deep ball more.

Andy Dalton ,Blake Bortles, and Ryan Tannehill proves that if a QB carries them self the "right" way the front office will make all types of excuses for their average play. The bag is still coming.

Add Dak Prescott to that list
