Peyton early in his career struggled in the big spot.

hmm I wonder why, the ONE year he got an actual defense, is the ONLY year he won jack shyt.

As far as Sanchez the defense isnt as good and neither is the running game and Sanchez stinks as does the team..

and this just how big of an impact the DEFENSE has.

The Colts were competitve every season with Manning. You get to the playoffs and anything can happen. They made the playoffs every season because Peyton Manning was fukking awesome.

Tom Brady just happened to be pretty damn good himself.

As far as the Jets defense...it isnt as great as it used to be but the offense is the far bigger problem. A better offense with that defense and the Jets would be a good team.

In the playoffs their goin to have to play a lot of close games ESPICALLY with them being a defensive. In the 4th quarter it's goin to come down to Alex Smith putting up 4th quarter drives every game and, it's just goin to keep getting harder and harder. I think it's a lot to ask for out of him.

I never argued with that TO article. but besides that, you dont have much to say about defense being more instrumental in last 10 SB wins

but keep waiting for a brady or manning to come along

Ill give you a good hint why plenty of talented qbs never pan out- with shytty teams around them, especially line play, qbs dont play well

so 10 years down the road when youre lamenting over another bad qb...you should ask yourself what if...the team was actually good and the only thing that it needed was a better qb. instead of trying to solve all of teams problems with just the qb change.

I dont like the what if the game, but niners draft big ben and he prolly aint shyt by now. prolly not even a single pro bowl. niners draft rodgers and start him right away and hes flacco at very best.

great defense can shut down any 'franchise' qb. ask dan marino about what niners D did to him in the one superbowl.

giants d shut down joe, cowboys d shut down steve, ravens and bucs defense shut down anyone, steelers defense got them a couple of sb wins (and ben should be ashamed for his performance in one of them). greatest show on turf shut down by beli's genius DEFENSIVE schemes. brady and record-breaking pats shut down by tuck and company.

you pick a great offense and Ill show you a defense that went and punched them in the mouth.

this is a stupid thread...the team is talented as hell. One bad loss early in the regular season doesn't mean this is the same team in january (if they make it)

I bet nobody thought the giants would win the superbowl when the saints kicked their ass last year...but i always felt that as long as they made the playoffs they can beat anybody

I'm a giants fan and i'll still fear the niners if we meet them in the playoffs...football is a game of adjustments and strategy more so then other sports

i'm going to be pissed if the niners win the superbowl and you caused it...anybody remember that epic thread that said none of the mannings would win a superbowl and they won them back to back

Carson's best seasons were much better than Alex's. He was a 2 time Pro Bowler, Alex hasn't even had a single season where he could claim the same.
