Nah, boxing has worldwide appeal and can draw from a global talent pool, most importantly it gives smaller men featherweight/welterweight a sport they can excel at against people their own size. That is a talent pool no other sport really draws from, so it will always have the smaller guys to fall back on.
The heavyweight division in boxing is devoid of top tier American talent because all the kids that are the size of modern heavys are in the NBA/NFL. The NFL cannot afford to have it's talent pool decrease, because it's only drawing from 1 region.
Man you dont hear the same for rugby, or hockey, or any other contact sport. maybe they will get the talent from these rugby nations...
i dont know but football will be ok if these billionaires step up to the plate and hand out guaranteed contracts, have people preach safe tackling techniques, spend more on research/equipment, etc. Cities love their teams. Nfl is an everyday thing now. The ball is in their court
