Right because the people that brought the Gen III , IV, V games did it off the nostalgia of having a Mew and Charizard, pokemon they'll never encounter in the most of the games traditionally.

They had no interest in atleast ONE new Pokemon, just pure nostalgia and gameplay (gameplay that involves the new Pokemon mind you). Got it.
