:yeshrug: I’m sure Askren is working on a strategy to clinch, if he can get Jake to miss big punches and get stupid, he can frustrate him. He’s already in Jake’s head.

He’s gonna need to open up to clinch, u can’t clinch and gaurd at the same time.

If that’s he’s strategy then he lost already.

man freddie's parkinsons is looking like its progressed some more
Yup, I did a case study on Parkinson’s and I want to say it’s worse then a lot of diseases including hiv. If u care to read I’ll explain a little of it.

PD is caused when the neurons in a specific part of ur brain called the substantia nigra stop producing a neurotransmitter called dopamine. Dopamine helps control and co ordinate body movement and much other things. There is no lab work that can diagnose u, u need to present with the classic symptoms and given a trial of medication. If u respond then u most likely have PD.

PD u live with it every day, the meds help but no where perfect. U cannot even come close to missing a dose, your rigidity and tremors will come back in full force. I have a theory that once u start taking synthetic dopamine ur body stops making its own so that’s why I’ve read stories of people having worse symptoms after starting medication and stopping. U can only take a max of 8 doses per day but Micheal j fox im sure takes more, when u see him moving all around like that on tv it’s not his PD but the side affect of the meds, dyskinesia. He most likely doesn’t want to feel the rigidity at all.

Rigidity is the most common complaint, most people probably think it’s the tremors but it’s not. What u see in roach is neck is rigidity, unable to move ur limbs and stiffness of the muscles. Looks like he’s having a bad day and the meds are not helping for whatever reason. Good thing is it looks like his gait hasn’t been affected yet, or he just hides it well.

Pd is very progressive too, u don’t get it and hope to just stay in ur current condition. It has an ending, it will progress.

Look at magic Johnson and look at Micheal j fox, roach, and the late great Ali. Tell me who u think they rather be?

This is an interesting fight. I see Paul taking this one, might even be a much easier fight for him than we thought.

Yall high.

Hes fought a

Flabby youtuber
Nate rob

Both people who never fought at all. Askren is a olympian and has been fighting longer than Pauls been alive :mjlol: off of fight IQ alone this wont be easy. Yall acting like Paul is a legitimate prospect or some shyt. Robbie Lawler didnt KO dude when he had him dead to rights with 4 oz gloves and Paul going to? Maybe, but Im not seeing what yall are Im being honest. Paul is going to look like absolute shyt after about 2 rounds
He’s an Olympic WRESTLER, not a BOXER.

Even though he’s been in MMA for years I doubt he actually dedicated much into boxing and striking since that was never in his game plan to win. He just needed to know enough to not be a fish out of water with a striker.

Jake Paul on the other hand has been training boxing for years with the top trainers and fighter. Boxing is a skill based sport, sure Askren is a good fighter. But boxing is just different - plenty of MMA dudes could get their asses handed to them by teenage golden gloves contender in a boxing ring.

As of right now Paul is a much more skilled boxer than Askren is.

This is easy money IMO - prolly not a KO but an easy unanimous victory

Regis Prograis: Boxing Has Needed Triller, Fans Don’t Run In Without Mainstream Fighters

Former 140-pound champion Regis Prograis is relishing his opportunity to co-star in Triller’s flagship Fight Club card April 17 headlined by the Jake Paul versus Ben Askren fight.

The 32-year-old Prograis (25-1, 21 KOs) has been around the block fighting for various platforms and promoters in recent years, but the Bayou boxer is bullish on boxing’s newest player leading up to his fight against Ivan Redkach at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

“Triller is coming on strong. I don't know how much of a threat they'll be, but for right now, it looks like they are going to be one of the top people in the sport,” said Prograis. “My team has been trying to do something like this a long time ago, where it's an event. Where it's not just regular boxing. You have an event with performers. Boxing has been needing something like this to happen and I am glad to be a part of it ... Without a mainstream fighter, a lot of people won't tune in.”

Prograis said Canelo Alvarez, Anthony Joshua, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are the only handful of fighters in the sport that can move the needle by themselves.

Prograis is embracing Paul’s pairing of savvy social skills with the sweet science and the untapped fan base he’ll bring on fight night.

“Jake Paul is very, very popular, so I'm not worried about being on the undercard or anything like that. That has no concern to me at all,” said Prograis. “I have to go out there and look spectacular and take care of business.”

Prograis test against Redkach is the only traditional boxing match on Triller’s PPV fight bill.

Other supporting bouts feature former cruiserweight champion Steve Cunnigham taking on former UFC champion Frank Mir, and pro boxer Joe Fournier fighting Colombian reggaeton artist Reykon.

“Everytime I fight I look forward to giving a spectacular performance. With this show, even more. I want to represent myself really well,” said Prograis. “I'm fighting a real fight. The positive for me is you have someone like Jake Paul, and he has a whole different world out there with popularity ... It's a win-win.

“I think a lot of fighters are going to try and do this [with Triller]. I'm glad that I got the call. This is a huge platform, and they are paying us all of this damn money. I think a lot of these fighters are going to reach out and say, 'I want to go fight on Triller.'”

to be honest this is the future lol. That last event was a damn good production. You mixing Boxing + Concerts with some comedians mixed in with expert announcers and you got an all around entertaining event that can create fans on both sides.

It would take a brave man to bet on this fight. On paper, Askren is by far the more accomplished fighter, and it's not even close.

At the same time, he's venturing into a new discipline where the opposite fighter has more experience than him. Will Ben's combat experience put him in good stead and make up for his lack of boxing experience? It's an interesting scenario.

This is my take; let's put his fight against Jorge aside, Ben is one of the most durable fighters in mma. If you watched the Lawler fight, you'd know that. He was literally slammed on his head, punched in the face several times while semi-conscious and still managed to pull out a win. His fighting style was basically to forego any type of reactive defense and just grab his opponent and wear them down. He would do this incessantly and put constant pressure on his opponent, relying on his resilience and chin to get into clinches. That may work in mma, but if you get a boxer with good footwork, he will simply get lit up.

I know it's just training, but what I'm seeing from these videos is not encouraging. Ben doesn't have his hands up to protect his chin, which is basically there floating in the air. He seems too stuck in his mma fighting style. Any boxer with decent footwork and lateral movement will beat this guy badly. But is Jake Paul really that boxer? Sure, he's looked good against a basketball player and YouTubers; but how will he fair against someone who is used to getting punched in the face for a living?

The first few moments will tell the story of the fight. Ben will try to put pressure on Jake and try go get his back on the ropes. He will try to make it an attrition based fight and simply dirty box his way to a win. If Jake can use good lateral movement and circle out, he will have Ben Askren chasing him. He can stick, move, and stick Ben from the outside. If he learns how to use Askren's constant pressure against him, he can probably stop him later on in the fight. The key is how he manages the pressure and for Ben, how he reacts to getting punched constantly.
