Also, for those who don't know.

Tommy's Mother was Scorsese's Mom
The guy on the left, who doesn't kill Tommy, was Scorsese's Dad

One of the most satisfying death's ever, despite being a GREAT character. The only difference was that the real Tommy was way younger and even more batshyt insane. It's shocking yet deep down it was excellent, because Tommy had it coming for being a fukk up.

Scorsese's parents had little cameos in a lot of his films up until they both died. I could always recognize her b/c she look like Martin with a wig on :pachaha: but the pops I could never spot. And they usually didn't appear together.

Yeah she was good in Casino to. When dude was cursing up a storm in their little grocery store or whatever because his cut from Tangiers was light.

Basically GOODFELLAS is a masterclass in telling a story.

You have the protagonist of the story who has ambition, while coming from a poor/blue-collar background; this person WANTS more money/power/influence/etc. So they find their way in, building up their dream. However where Scorsese does so well, is he shows the flaws of people so clear as day.

So what happens is that after so much of this power comes to them, their flaws overtake self-control, and they not only fukk everything up, but their friends fukk everything up.

CASINO is basically more matured Goodfellas, as the mob had the WRONG people running stuff in Las Vegas; which ended up getting people killed, and eventually having the entire mob getting runned out of the city.

Wolf of Wall Street is the same concept, eventually everyone is too fukking stupid to stop the excess before it's too late.

Great breakdown. How many years do you think it took henry hill to go from blue collar to wealthy?

He was involved in, but then again who knows since it's the mob, the Air France robbery at JFK in 67'; Hill would be around 24. He used the money to buy some business, so that's when he started to earn more from his cut. When Billy Bats was killed in 70', Hill owned the bar, that's why Tommy apologized to Hill in the movie.

30 years ago Scorsese put together this masterpiece which was an achievement that very few directors can ever live up to.. it is the "perfect" film and would go on to influence the rest of the film industry for the remainder of time.

Pesci deserved that Oscar he was such a sociopath. Hilarious and scary all the same. One of the best acting performances ever but I think Paul Sorvino was underrated... it was an understated performance I don't think any other actor could have done it that well. :wow:
Didn't Sorvino say he didn't want the part. He didn't think he could be cold and intimidating. The stare at the end in the court room.

One of my favorite memories of a person I knew when we were teenagers, is watching Goodfellas in bed with her, and during the infamous helicopter she was saying I reminded her of Henry Hill, which I found hilarious, but also caught up with me lol

I love the scene where the sleazy Philly guy says "you wanna see helicopters...whrrrrrrr" and twirls his fingers

30 years ago... Pike's Peak was a fukking pimple back then, wasn't it?

The random pieces of dialogue in the movie are perfect

Literally 2.5 hours of throwaway quotes that are classic

“Where you goin? For a walk in the park?” (Paulie to Henry while they’re in prison knowing damn well Henry in the dope game now)
