Top 10? Nah.he's not top 10 but he isn't half as bad as Hickenbottom or Cripple H. His post WM 13 promo is better mic work than anything those two ever did.

It's no coincidence that WWE got better after he left, and WCW got worse when he joined them. Was World champ in WWE during the down years, and champ in WCW during their down years.

I disagree with this thread, but the above is true :ohhh: :leon:

 no it fukking isn't. He had the belt for 2 months, and WCW was already on it's downward spiral. That short reign wasn't going to save shyt. Ben0it/Sid/Nash/Sid/Jarrett/Page were the champs to follow for Christ sakes.

Define popularity, the #'s say otherwise. Name some Bret classics that didn't involve HBK or Austin. What about those epic feuds with Lawler and Yokozuna? :heh:

What? Are you mad he gave another kid his sunglasses instead of you or something?

Was Owen better overall, yes (Bret even said that)
Was Bret a formulaic wrestler? Yes but what legend isnt?

But the ratings bullshyt aint an argument. It isnt with Shawn either. That was the post Hogan adjustment period. Rule of business. After every boom period, there is a cool down period. 93-96 was that cool down period. The landscape drastically changed and it needed to adjust. No one was replacing Hogan at that point. Revisionist history will NOT change that fact either.

Bret's mic work was hugely underrated at times. The Hart Foundation 97 era, his shyt was on. Him and Austin seemed more like a shoot than his actual heat w/ HBK.

Bret made it seem real. More than I can say for 80% of the bums nowadays.
