He faced the best in his division (Whitaker, Romero, Costa, Gastelum, Silva) and that's all that matters, quit that BS monster talk

I wasn’t the one that initiated the “BS monster talk”:dwillhuh: check the discussion chain:gucci:

Also he beat Romero in 2020 who was coming off a 2 fight losing streak and haven’t had a win since 2018

Silva who clearly was out his prime and was 1-4-1 before his fight (even loss his final 2)

Costa and maybe Whitaker were the only 2 worthy that you mentioned

He tested positive for an illegal estrogen blocker commonly used to avoid the side effects of steroid cycles, he hid under a cage to avoid the NSAC from testing him, and he had EXTREMELY low endogenous testosterone to epitestosterone ratios when he was randomly tested (indicative of immense exogenous testosterone abuse). He's a roider breh, he just is. Do you really think with his personality he wouldn't take PED's if he could get away with it :mjlol:?

He's not winning like Floyd, who became "boring" and conservative but still won lopsided decisions, he's getting razor thin split decision wins over journeymen. Santos had one leg and still gave Jones a ton of trouble. He's clearly lost a step, and I personally attribute that to a mixture of a lack of roids, alcohol/drug abuse taking its toll and wear and tear from being a ten year fight vet.

I hear you, there are still something I still fundamentally disagree with you one.

But we’ll have to just agree to disagree. That’s the beauty of a clean debate.

We all have our opinion

:salute: It’s all healthy debate breh. It’s these kind of discussions that help us better understand the sport.

Those mma cacs on some :mjpls: shyt. If ufc was doing so great they would be paying these fighters a hell of a lot more. Mind you boxers/mma fighters been sharing gyms for a while now so its usually not the fighters on that bs they usually are fans of each other. The gym i go to is black owned and have yet to hear any of the :mjpls: shyt i be seeing online over there.

Honestly the :mjpls: factor of the fanbase has turned me off to the sport, despite having dudes at my gym that fight pro i have no interest in watching the shyt. I peep the big joints if nothing else is on but yeah i took a trip to those sherdog boards and reaslized this will be the only place i talk boxing and mma on a casual level.

Training muay thai is a lot of fun though and my son is a state level wrestler so i can appreciate good/high level grappling but yeah shyt is damn near nascar status w the :mjpls: takes :picard:

That's just cacs in general

GGG was a the best thing smoking until he wasn't, does he even still box

Lomachenko was the greatest, only on the youtube comment sections, he did zero on ESPN zero views, he couldn't sell out a family dinner in the Ukraine they even tried saying he didn't lose on ESPN which was the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen in sports

They needed Israel to win this fight to keep MMA alive to be honest, there's no star in the sport, Mcgregor finished, be always was a hype job

Jake Paul gonna KO Askren in ridiculous fashion, its gonna make MMA look more like a joke

because an MMA fighter is gonna get KOd by a guy isn't even a real boxer

It reminds me of that show called Bully Beat Down, on some of those episodes the Bully was hanging with the fighter lmao and even survived the match lmao

MMA has always been somewhat of a circus show, nobody takes the shyt serious as a real sport

The media feeds into it, even older boxing media. They complain when there’s probably like 4 or 5 boxing PPVs a year max yet the UFC has 12 PPVs. Last night’s card was a snoozefest for the most part.

Also the new fans that get into MMA are the worst, they act like it’s 1992 and they’ve discovered some mystical sh!t.

Dana has done an excellent job of affiliating MMA with UFC, the UFC brand is bigger than the sport of MMA. Where as no one promoter or entity in boxing is bigger than the sport. Pros and cons for both.

I see everyone mentioning the size difference but like Jan said in the post match interview I was more shocked that there was no real speed difference.

Jan said he expected Izzy to be quicker but less powerful but it was the opposite. You can see that Jan felt Izzy's power couple of times and was careful.

But he had no real speed advantage or slickness in his moves. Jan had no issue at all with Izzy's head kick attempts.

There was a speed difference, but I think Izzy was too hesitant. I think Izzy didn’t commit enough to his strikes.

The way these fans shytting on aljo is def :mjpls:
He's gonna run it back and get a bigger payday. Yan probably would be the favorite. The fact is that was an illegal strike but mfs would act different if it was the other way round:mjpls:

too bad Jones wouldn’t give Jan a fight. Jon may go up and accomplish at heavyweight what Israel got done tonight at light heavyweight.

but Jan having been on this tear is the underdog every time because like he said he is hard to believe in. Lumbering and dumb seeming. But I do see a next level confidence in him. Who knows how many bets Jan washed of Dana’s, with his dumb ass meat head fight opinion.

imo Jan becomes the one to finally contain Glover 2.5 while Jiri P rebooks with Reyes or goes straight to Rakic, on his way to Jan.
Jan knocked out that annoying fakkit Dominick Reyes...so I'm a fan forever just off that.

I think the problem is MMA is still new in sense most fighters come from one disciple: boxing, wrestling, BJJ etc and the pick up the rest. When you get to elite levels it’s kinda like well who has the best of all of these. You can’t really be exposed to one part. That being said few MMA fighters are elite at all those disciples: striking, wrestling and grappling. Only really Jon Jones?

Boxing has a different set of expertise, but the quality of generalists is higher. You get all elite fighters who have power, can move, and defence as basics, then on top of that you have people who are either elite at all of them are excel tremendously.

Once MMA fighters of the new gen, train in MMA to be generalists, then have specialism on top of that, then it’ll be very impressive. Now, you mostly see people exposed when a specialist comes in. Or a better all rounder. The new gen of fighters are gonna be a problem as they’ll be taught MMA from ground up not just one discipline.

Boxing everyone has to know the basics of all facets, then you get the sauce on top. It’s a higher level of skill for that in my opinion.
