True. People always forget that there are millions of pure white and near white folks living in South American/Hispanic countries. When these people come to anerica, they use the same old winning tactic as Irish and Italians, « the not wasp but white enough » move to assimilate into mainstream American society. White passing folks always pulled this move this move.
I hate that trump won because his victory will give strength and wings to the far right parties and movements in Canada, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Brazil, Argentina, and Europe . Like it or not, the USA is the political leader, the cultural trendsetter and the social barometer of the western world and the world in general. Racist attitudes will comeback and become acceptable again. Repercussions will be felt in the music/ movie industry. The black quarterback movement in the NFL might stall or be stopped. NBA ratings might decline severely . Maybe Black artists won’t have the same popularity, financial success, clout and cultural influence as before. Racist laws/programs that will target black citizens in America will be passed soon. The Supreme Court will be loaded with conservative/far right judges who will overturn many civil rights era decisions. This is a depressing result tonight.
