That’s what happens when you take things for granted and expect things to remain the same. It was so obvious that Biden was a one term president because of his age and relative unpopularity with the masses and that the democrats needed a younger, charming, charismatic, prepared, smart, well spoken, energetic and competent male ( yes a male candidate would have been ideal because I will never underestimate the misogyny and conversatism of many Americans) successor to come in immediately after Biden. Biden barely won the presidency in 2020 under exceptional circumstances in a one in a life context (Covid pandemic and summer riots) the DNC should have seen the 2020 election as a warning/wake up call.
