I saw Obama at a rally in my city a month or two ago. Before he came out, you had the mayor, some house candidates, the person running for senator, and the governor all came out before him. But when he came out and he spoke like for almost an hour, you could just see the shift in people in the room from all the other people to him just by how many people just stopped browsing their phones and sat in silence listening to the dude. He even had old white dudes enamored from what I saw.

He has something very few politicians have and really Trump is the only one in recent memory who comes close. But if Obama was allowed to run a 3rd time, trust he would win but yeah no one out right now can compare to him on that democratic side. It is what it is
