UPDATE: Robert Kagan confirms to NPR that he has resigned from WaPost editorial board after disclosure it would not make an announcement.
Kagan has been a persistent conservative critic of Trump, tying him to an autocratic tradition.
Uniformly outraged response from staff.

Guess Bezos is willing to sacrifice the journalists there to save other business?

@DevorahLeah
Yes, "anticipatory obedience" is an actual thing, and we're seeing examples of it now. Fear of a Trump presidency. Fear of autocracy. Fear of a crackdown on the press. But unwillingness to take a stand because it might offend Dear Leader. So disappointing.

A study of the trend of purchasing trusted “unbiased” newspapers is warranted. Are there more newspapers facing conservative purchase? Will there be a tipping point in which major papers refuse to endorse democracy vs orgs like @nypost, who now endorse a convicted felon?

Once again, the billionaires will protect themselves. This election is billionaires vs democracy. We, the people, will save democracy in the end.

When you say staff, you’re referring to editorial staff or opinion staff or both?

@NiteNiteCurry
I’ve had a subscription to the Washington Post for 15 years. I canceled it today. Truly sad about it. The paper does a lot of great journalism still. But a message must be sent.

Now let’s hope *somebody* leaks the editorial

>looking for a rightwing editor
>ask if he’s conservative or neocon
>paper doesn’t understand
>pull out illustrated diagram explaing what is conservative and what is neocon
>paper laughs and says “he’s a good editor sir”
>read editor

Maybe they'll hire someone who isn't a professional warmonger to replace him.

If the rest of WaPo had any testicular fortitude they should all join him and resign.

Besides the point but why do newspapers endorse presidents anyways. Isn't their whole thing supposed to be impartial reporting of the news.

@linderje
We expected uniform outrage from a staff that expressed uniform disregard for journalism and, indeed, facts.

NEW: Holocaust survivor Jerry Warstki shreds Kamala Harris, says her comparing Trump to H*tler is the "worst thing" he has heard in his 75 years of living in the U.S.
"H*tler invaded Poland when I was 9. He m*rdered my parents & most my family," the 94-year-old said.
"I know more about Hitler than Kamala will ever know in a thousand lifetimes," Warstki said in an interview with the New York Post.
"For her to accuse President Trump of being like H*tler is the worst thing I ever heard in my 75 years living in the United States."
"She owes my parents and everybody else who was m*rdered by H*tler an apology for repeating this lie."

Excellent. Hopefully they can restore a bit of balance to the editorial staff and the newswroom by hiring some pro-Trump conservatives.

Everything is back firing on the corrupt democrats. They think they can just get away with what they’re illegally doing w/o ramifications.
