I don’t think it’s fair to call Trump stupid. Dude is a genius manipulator and a genius at cheating the system. I think he plays dumb as a manipulation tactic. Trump putting forth these dumbass picks have an underlying strategy. He’s testing how much the Republican congress is willing to push back on him right now.

He is a master market and he understands human nature. He also understands incentives and that is part of why he has managed to co-opt the Republicans party.

But listen to the substance of his answers about anything related to government or policy. Listen to his answers related to the real estate or construction industries, which he worked in for decades. He sounds like a rube.

It is more than merely being uninterested or lacking curiosity. Keep in mind this is a guy who grew up in the construction industry and was President for 4 years, he should be more knowledgeable about all those topics by mistake.

I agree with you. He’s retarded when it comes to policy and governing but it’s not because he lacks capacity to do it, it’s because he doesn’t care enough to.m

I think he knows these picks are horrible but I think he’s getting off on cucking the Republican Party enough to make them agree to the picks as a show of power

But @the cac mamba told me trannys was reason

I was definitely wrong about the perception of crime in this country. It seems that percentage decreases in crime rates from studies don't really resonate with the public. For people who still feel the impact of crime or are exposed to a constant narrative of "crime gone wild" in the media and cherry-picked social media videos, statistics mean little. I just hope this doesn't lead to an overcorrection that results in disastrous tough-on-crime policies.

fukk Seth Moulton and Rebecca Katz.

They all tryna say everything but they didn’t offer anything to materially change anyone’s lives.

This trans focus is the most Democrats/liberals missing the point shot ever.

I barely know who they are but if you were dividing it into multiple categories, the trans thing is one front on the culture side that is emblematic of not being able to meet reachable voters where they are. People want reassurance. There's more examples of this to me, of Democrats being very very rigid in who they want in the party, and GOP just being like fukk it everyone's welcome

The Democrats problem is when in power they only materially change people’s living so far as the wealthy want. The GOP gives hate and that’s fuel, but if Kamala ran and said she was giving every American $5,000 checks if she won, all of that hate would subside and people would vote for that.

The Dems are a Conservative Party.

also agree with that. Establishment class would say "well you can't just give people money", but I think most average everyday voters would take the 5k in their pockets over their moral outrage/ economic insight

That's the second part of the problem, is actual positions and something people can believe in. Business is usual works for me, but it doesn't work for enough voters to win anymore. Too many people are able to be ignorant of politics, in a way posters in here are not, but also totally be able to see through it in a way that 20 years ago wasn't exactly true.

Imagine telling someone that either has or knows someone that car/home broken into or mugged on the street that,"Dont worry, crime is down 15% overall from X year to now!"

Especially when you are having these car break in's or store thefts, that is very visible and has definite impact on the community. Just like with telling people the economy is good because the stock market is good and other thing nebulous to the average person, but people hurting over things like rising prices and rent increases. There is a disconnect with how things are reported vs how they are, for good and the bad.
