A woman can win. I do not buy that at all.No more women. They can't win. Has to be a white or black guy.

The cacs on r/self are going crazy. I’m sure it’s either Russian bots or Maga disguising themselves are liberals. But, I’m tired of the excuses. The real issue is Americans are dumb and will vote against their own self interests. All the hoopla about dems not catering to the working class, young men, etc is BS. And offering solutions for the previously mentioned will not fix the actual problem. It will only continue to allow fascism to be a threat. This quote by H.L. Mencken still runs true over a century later: “As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”
I'm fine with this. And btw, I'm not even sure a woman can win a competitive primary. Hillary ran against one idiot who didn't understand basic things about American politics (like the fact that you cannot win without the south in either the GOP or dem primaries). Kamala didn't have a primary. Could she have won in an open primary process that started last year thru Jan-May 2024? Maybe, but I doubt it. So basically you have two women who probably don't win without a weak field or being crowned. Biden would have smoked Hillary in 2015/2016, and I can imagine Shapiro or Pritzker or even Whitmer beating Kamala. Her main advantage would be that she'd have the black vote initially but that could change. No more women. They can't win. Has to be a white or black guy.
This. That shyt is so fukking annoying. I would add being invited to MSNBC also. Not to mention this insufferable "listen to black women" shyt. I don't want to hear any of that shyt again and I would BEG every non-white 2028 candidate to not fall for this shyt. Stop platforming people whose entire professional focus is on being invited to White House parties.
No it really didnt lol. Biden/Kamala got rejected otherwise the GOP would've swept the Senate races and we still wouldn't be awaiting the House majority ruling. And if 2028 is center vs center-right the Dems lose againSame way they lost this time and in 2016. Maybe we'll get lucky and another global pandemic will let the Dems squeak out another winOh.. and @Smoking With Cigarettes you want to talk about influence. Let's talk about it. Most of the progressive agenda in this country died on Tuesday and you should realize this. It's not something to be celebrated. The country just shifted to the right even in NYC and Jersey. It's over. 2028 will be a fight to the center or center-right.
Damn

BTW....can we get rid of South Carolina as the first primary now that Biden and his people are done? This entire process made it clear to me that black people are little more than pawns who are activated by a party that views them as children or sheep. When it's time to argue that Biden withdrawing would be anti-black (despite the fact that it would elevate Kamala), you trot out black people to make the argument. And then when it's time to argue Kamala should be the nomination now that Biden has dropped out because she's the black choice....you trot out the same black people to make the argument. You know what that sounds like to me? "Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia." Not to mention this insufferable "listen to black women" shyt. I don't want to hear any of that shyt again and I would BEG every non-white 2028 candidate to not fall for this shyt. What do you think about the conspiracy theory that vote was hacked?
the sheer number of split tickets strains credulityCome on fam. What is this, 2004 redux lol. Did Kenneth Blackwell do it again.
Was I shocked by the results? Yes. Are they weird in the context of what I thought would happen? Yes. But the thing I and many people weren't talking about ended up mattering most: costs, and perceptions of costs. Inflation has fallen all year and it didn't matter. Consumer spending is red hot, wages are up, and people are still peeved every time they order fast food that used to cost $10 and it's $15.
From my vantage point, grocery prices have been back to normal for awhile. But I don't have three kids and a wife so perhaps my perspective is different from a family buying a bunch of shyt.
