This results prove tonight that Biden is one heck of a strong candidate. He should have ran instead of Hillary in 2016
He's still unpopular. I think it's way more about them thinking they could survive the Roe v. Wade blowback and having the most shytty crop of candidates. It's what their base wants tho. They deserve it.

He would've wrecked Trump in 2016. However, I don't think Democratic voters would be nearly as engaged as they are now without Trump. He really changed the landscape for everyone. GOP has gone off the deep end and everyone knows it.

Yeah this is the worst case scenario for the republicans all the inflation messaging and terrible economy stuff didn't seem to stick to the dems this cycle

Which means the Roe v Wade and the voters rights stuff was a good strategy or maybe the independents don't like trump candidates IDK

Its hard to fathom how an easy layup where all polling had a massive L for the dems seems to have been false

The narrative is gonna change to rigged election depending on the margins
:ohhh: @BigMoneyGrip for the bold

the last point is what some of us mentioned. the danger of daily hammering people that the races were over and GQP was gonna win in a landslide was going to set expectations to the point where if that DIDNT happen, people were going to be confused and most assuredly more election deniers are going to be born

Dems were supposed to get bodied with the level of inflation we have and this amount of fear mongering about crime everywhere (ads, local news). They should be embarrassed.
Voters are more sophisticated than “cheerios are 40 cents more expensive a vote for the republicans will fix it”

This was about changing established law for women’s rights and protecting democracy

That along with Biden having a one hell of summer and fall energized the youth vote

Roe v. Wade/voter rights/civil rights etc. are proving to be huge factors... we are rejecting extremism (except Florida and Ohio yall on your own) :manny:

Yeah, I gave up on Ohio and Florida after 2018.

But to be honest Florida been ruining elections since at least 2000:aicmon: the first time I paid attention to politics was the SC screwing over Al Gore

The fact it overcame inflation issues means either people aren’t blaming the Dem or don’t trust the GOP to do anything about it

Honestly I think it's a lot to do with Trump. Seems like he boosted Republican turnout in the short term with culture wars, but hurt the GOP in the longer term by turning off too many other voters to the point where their dislike of the GOP outweighs inflation.

Right now it seems like everybody is basically just voting the same way they voted in 2020. It'll be interesting to see how the GOP reacts to Trump's campaign announcement now.

But why tho? They kept doing unpopular shyt and galvanized their opps …totally overplayed their hand with the roe shyt and surprise surprise it’s bitting them in the ass …this honestly should have always been expected
Midterms are never good for the party in power except for the Iraq War years. They have inflation running at 40 year highs and can’t get a clear mandate as “fiscal” conservatives?
