because the incumbent party historically gets killed in midterms.

That’s not true in every cycle Clinton and Bush both gained seats during midterms and people should start being more nuanced in their historical references to put those moments in their proper context ..nothing about what the republicans strategically have been doing over the past 12 months indicated “landslide” they clearly overplayed whatever so called leverage they had and are predictably paying for it …that type of nuance should be apart of the dialogue not just lazy over dependence on past trends
