Y’all saying USA need more playmakers but who?? nikkas don’t do that no more, it’s all about getting your own now.

The USA needed the old guards like Chris Paul and Kyle Lowry out there

Trae Young? LaMelo? LaMelo might be the only American pass first point guard with creativity out there

We were taught a lie.

The US is still the best basketball nation on earth and will always be, as long as we are the current version of this country, but that’s down to population and money. But the system we have is terrible and doesn’t want to face the truth that our fake amateurism is bad for youth development.

We need to professionalize youth development and get the best talents with the best coaches.

And we need to have the NBA change.

The problem isn’t playmakin imo, I think the problem is the lack of perimeter defense, it trickles down into other problems like bigs having to help so they are out of position for rebounds, and constant buckets stops any transition offense from happening

A good % of the perimeter players on US are Swiss cheese on D so unless multiple players are goin for 20+ in a half court setting, the US is gonna get strapped

dame been playing sg for years. tatum depends on jaylen to do all that team stuff. lavine been playing with too many bad players to ever consider not playing iso ball. kd too in love with his own scoring ability to even consider playing offball. bam expects to be spoonfed looks instead of snatching someone else's plate - imagine getting bullied by the french. etc

lowry, paul george, beal - and some of these young guys who are actually assertive would've helped too...

its looking obvious that mcgee got the call instead of christian wood because wood would've potentially taken more shots away from our more recognizable scorers too :patrice:

We’re blaming the assistant coaches now and not the multiple all-stars and champions on the roster?

It’s a team full of one on one guys who don’t guard anybody and don’t do any dirty work on their own teams. The ones that do (Draymond and Bam) are so offensively inept, especially for international basketball, they really don’t make a difference.
Draymond was making a difference out there.

He was literally the only player that was setting up good looks for everyone, which is telling, because even despite his lack of scoring, they couldn't score with any regularity when he was off the floor. He was getting stops on defense, running the break and setting up cats, and doing it in the halfcourt, hitting cutters and calling for off-ball screens to free players up. When he was on the bench all they did was just ISO it up.

paul george gets shyt on all the time but ain't no way lavine should be on this team over him

Highly doubt LaVine got picked over him, PG probably said no

I wonder if the Olympics starting before free agency is why Lowry didn’t go
