why was this upped?
KD had to play 40 minutes at the end of the regular season because the Nets led by "Superstar" Kyrie Irving and "Coach" Steve Nash went 5-16 while KD was out earlier this year. That's why he is tired, not because he played some ball 8 months earlier in Japan
Man they ain’t playing no back to backs in the playoffs. Tired excuse is weak.

Stop this. He barely played in 2020-21 during the regular season.

Only reason he got hurt in 2021-22 was because Bruce Brown's dumbass was flopping and his head ran into KD's knee.

Yes he barely played but he would still probably be fresher now if he hadn't played in the Olympics. Especially considering the minutes he's put on his body this season. KD isn't young anymore, he's turning 34 this year.

So what is your point? Not playing 180 minutes of competetive basketball in August would have made his knee more resilient against Bruce Brown's head in January? I don't get it. Nets were 27-15 and KD was hooping before he missed 6 weeks. Then he comes back and has to play 40+ minutes and drop 50 points just to beat a shytty Knicks team so his team can make the playoffs.

Has nothing to do with the Tokyo Olympics

Keyword is "probably". It's not just about playing the Olympic games. It's also about the training that's involved. I'm not just talking about the injury, it's also his general conditioning. He would probably be less fatigued right now if he hadn't played in the Olympics. That's why many players skip the Olympics, especially older players.
