I guess he can go to Cincinnati after they lose Castellanos to Free Agency. Hell Sandy can sign him. We can offer him, whatever we would have signed Conforto to 3-4 years ago

Give me Starling Marte, he's Curtis Granderson 2.0 :hubie:

Cliffs:
  • Only looking to hire a GM right now.
  • Seem they have an expectation it will happen end of the week, beginning of next week.
  • Will hire a manager afterward only
  • Have interviewed many candidates
  • Sandy is doing most of the interviewing and Steve is only doing some
  • Said he doesn't think his son being an assistant GM is a factor.
  • Acknowledged their is no rebuilding in NYC
  • No looking to trade any of their minor league talent
  • Most likely over the Luxury tax this season.
Seemed a bit contentious and I can tell he did not like some the questions but he kept it civil.

On Baseball Night in New York, they talked about Conforto and it was solely about money. They even agreed that it's likely in their best interest to move on and refresh the faces in the organization.

When Epstein, Beane and Sterns not being able to get permisssion happened I expected it but the GM/President searching now is getting fishy. I understand people in high level roles not wanting to leave and start all over again in a new city. But what is up with people like 4 to 5 steps below the president of baseball Operation and not even GMs yet not even interviewing with the Mets? That makes no sense, they Ha e nonibterest in advancing their careers? I think other owners don't like Cohen or are scared of him. Their might be a blacklist afoot, if you take this job with the Mets you won't be able to get another job after. Alderson can't be it, he is well respected and he's old. Even if he will be looking over your shoulder when you start he is gonna retire soon and then it's your show. What do you guys think?
Just sayin' . . .

Adam Cromie emerges as serious candidate for Mets GM job

We play in NY, Conforto is usually a 3+ WAR player that's in his late 20's, Mets have no excuse to not bring him back given how shytty the OF market is this year.

At what number do you bring him back?

They're meeting with Bryant this week. If they sign him, he can play RF. I wish Pillar stayed, because he could play the corner as well.

I'd bring him back at less in the 15 to 19 range and that's only cause he was good during the world series years.
