Saw the end of the Dodgers game last night, there's no reason we shouldn't be like them(winning 90+ games/year). We just need a FO who can scout prospects, combine that w/ a big market payroll, and you have Dodgers East.

I think it was a long shot/very difficult to pluck someone already doing the same or a similar job af a different organization. Especially of they are doing a good job. I didn't have an expectation of getting him.


You could be right, but that's how this business works. How many times have you seen a GM position get filled by someone fresh off the streets? GM's usually get plucked (by the bigger market teams) from other (lower market) franchises. The smaller markets are usually the ones that find the gems.

This is president of baseball operation not just GM and The last time someone was plucked from a small market franchise in NY was the early 90s. May be an old paradigm. Execs maybe realize NY has unnecessary obstacles other markets don't.
