Bad end to the season. I think Marte being out and Max's back were big factors. But the players who remained just didn't play well at the end if the season. Sad since they had such a great season, but I think they added on from 2021. Need a couple more bats. Guys I want to see back:

And I really think they should try to trade for Ohtani. He could replace an SP and hit behind Pete. He would be perfect.

Or not sign Bassitt, Walker, Carrasco, May, Ottavino, Lugo. Also, trade McCann (if possible). They going to free up a lot of $ with the amount of FA coming off the books. I want more turnover especially the bullpen.

Yeah, not interested. He has 1 or 2 more years of dominance left.
I like Walker but I think he is looking for a lot of $ to. So me not wanting him back is just at the price he will probably be able to get. Let's find the next Walker.

I'm really not trying to trade for anybody that I think will be testing free agency. The farm not deep enough and I wouldn't want to move Alvarez for him. We need to start having youth with potential in our lineup. We gotta build still to then outbid ppl later and fortify the team.

Now, being a fan of a perennial playoff team that broke thru, can you reassure us Mets fans that winning is a process and taking your lumps in the playoffs builds character and helps in the future? What was Houston's turnover like over those years? I even recall at the beginning you guys had a great season followed up by a terrible one and then got going to the elite caliber team you now are.

We can't let DeGrom walk. We are talking about a franchise player. He can perform like an ace for 2 and be a middle rotation guy for the rest of the contract for all I care (I'm thinking he gets 4-5). The contract isn't going to hurt us long term.
