1 hit in an elimination game, such an embarrassing franchise.

There should be a damn near full turn over of this roster. Eppler should be fired by morning.

In short, fukk the Mets.

Braves, Phillies, and Yankees getting further than the Met's hurts....but this clearly wasn't our year when the front office held onto the farm/chips @ the trade deadline
Met's overachieved and are in a rebuild

Aight, here's my season recap now that this shyt is over....

I've been following this team since the early 90s, and this is going down as the most bizarre season I've ever seen. A team that won 100+ games with no killer instinct. Constantly winning 2/3, 3/4 but never putting the hammer down and going for sweeps. Its like if everything didn't go right from the first inning they completely folded. The best example was the 4 game series at home against the Rockies, won the first 3 and lost the final game 1-0 on a sac fly, a game Degrom started by the way. They only won 7 games in a row all season.

I've never seen a team bring in 3 players at the deadline and make the team worse. The Padres went for it at the deadline and got Soto for free basically, and they're stacked for the next few years. Meanwhile we held onto Brett Batty.

I've never seen a team refuse to fight back after going down. The 3 games in Atlanta they only scored 1 run after going down, that was Nido's home run in the 8th in the first game.

I've never seen a team look so lifeless against sub .500 teams in a division race. This is an 88 win team disguised as a 101 win team.

After last years embarrassment of letting the Braves win the division with 88 wins and collapsing, they follow it up with this garbage. Steve Cohen must be thinking, "damn, this is going to be much harder than I thought."

101 toothless wins, put it in the books.
That’s real af as an outsider I kept thinking yeah they gonna end up with about 100 wins but this team does not look like a 100 win team

Being petty? Sure!! :umad:

The Mets losing has always felt like a Yankee win to me since I was a teen. :manny:

You should have seen my reaction to the 88’ fail. :heh:
Like my Pops and older brother just here to kick us when we’re down :hhh::why:

Bad end to the season. I think Marte being out and Max's back were big factors. But the players who remained just didn't play well at the end if the season. Sad since they had such a great season, but I think they added on from 2021. Need a couple more bats. Guys I want to see back:
Nimmo
Diaz
Williams
deGrom (3 years or less only)

Guys they can let go:
Carrasco
Bassit
May
Walker
Ottavino
Lugo
Naquin
Givens
Vogelbach

And I really think they should try to trade for Ohtani. He could replace an SP and hit behind Pete. He would be perfect.
